Decent episode. Usually after 2 episodes i have kind of an idea of who may win. Not a clue for me. Bull shit on Probst seeing the girl steal the rice. He had to be alerted by the producer and bull shit on them taking it away from her too. Its Survivor. Hell a few seasons ago they used the tribal fire to open something. All tribes had the opportunity to do what she did. To me that was a cool move. Im guessing it must be a written rule or something and thats why the producers intervened.
Im guessing Gabe played his idol because they really thought it was going to be a tie at TC, and im assuming if they draw rocks he would be excluded from having to do that. If i had to pick , I would have gone with the girl who tried to steal the rice, but mow since she wAs outed , I dont know what the other tribes may think. Again , i thought it was brilliant.

One other thing. The reward of the fishing supplies. Maybe they fish everyday , i dont know but really it is not shown much anymore of people actually using the supplies. At least i havent noticed.

Now that I watched it. Not sure if sending out tk was a good move or not. Clearly he was an ego. But if they are going to win challenges they were going to need their strongest competitor.

But I am not sure how much of a disadvantage it is to be on the tribe that is going to lose every week.... once you realize this getting rid of the stronger competitors is the way to go... and just wait for a rebuff...

but then the problem with waiting for a rebuff is that if you are thrown to the wrong team then you have no chance to make it to the merge....

Pre-merge is really such a crap-shoot... i dont know if there is an actual good strategy to survive it... you just have to get lucky...

i do think though that once the merge happens, a trio or a duo can do well, as they can just be numbers to help one of the other 2 tribes get out the other tribe...

this is also what i dont like about survivor, often the original tribes post merge just play it safe and work together... as it is an easy alliance..

Not a lot to discuss really after that one. I did find it odd that they mentioned Gabes use of the idol the week before. He said he used it because he saw so many go home with an idol in their pocket last season. Some of you know the rules better than me , but i thought he played it just in case it was a tie and would have gone to drawing rocks. If that were the case - would his use of the idol prevent him from having to draw ???

Ok ok. Now they are playing. Good episode.

they are... but that was a bad move IMO... they should have kept the rome plan... he is so unlikeable that nobody is going to want to be part of your alliance... and you will always be a target... the, if you cant get rome out, you get one of his alliance members out...

he is the last person anyone should feel comfortable with post merge... Keyshawn was loyal, he was a schemer, but he would have been your schemer...

I think they are looking at Rome as a shield. And he is strong, so obviously he is a comp beast.

But shields blow up games. And comp beasts who can’t perform during comps are NOT COMP BEASTS!

The shield strategy will run its course eventually. But it is still a strategy that is used in these shows. And using the shield strategy is lazy, so it will be tough to evolve away from.

the shield strategy doesnt work when the shield makes you a target as well...

once the merge happens, why would anyone be part of their alliance, if Rome is so unbearable to play with....

Decent episode. Huge blindside. Again though , not sure they got the vote right. Andy just seems all over the place to me. I get Sam though. Sam sees him as his pawn , not to mention he wanted no part of 3 girls vs 1 Guy. Good move by him not showing his idol eventhough it has no power now. Im assuming Sierra was the only one to know he had it. Now he can play the fake idol game without having to build one and he doesnt look untrustworthy for not telling Rachel and Andy about the idol. Cracks are starting to form however between Sierra and Sam , so not sure how much longer they can last. I was kind of glad to see that tribe lose. I wanted to see where their thoughts were. I think with the Merge coming i would buy real low on Rachel. She is a puzzle beast and seems like a really good player eventhough she was on the wrong side of the vote last night. Help for her is on the way.

whats nice about this season so far is that one tribe hasnt dominated nor got demolished... what this means IMO, is that once the merge happens we are more likely for players to not be stuck in their tribes... hopefully we can have a good season when the game begins...

Not sure if i have ever been that confident on who was getting voted out. Normally they edit it so you have a couple of options on who it may be. Last night I was waiting for him to all of a sudden find an idol or something, which woudnt have mattered because he would have never played it. They really made him look bad too with the edit before tribal. As much as he came off being a complete jerk , i have to give him props on the way he took being voted out. He took that like a champ. Sure he was shocked but didnt take any parting shots at anyone.

I would like to talk about his game play though. Sure he was brash and confident and they made him look like he was every bit of what he was. As a fan or Survivor though , to me that guy was a player. Maybe most are like that and you just dont see it. The guy was always thinking, even up to his last vote. Jeff flipped Sams name , and he played it great, looking at everyone like who did that. His explanation of the amulet was outstanding. Just too big of an ego and i didnt like what he did with the ultimatum thing. Not sure if you haVe to make the jury before you are ever considered for an all star show, but i would have loved to have seen him play in a more toned down approach. The guy was entertaining for sure. His ego will be compared to Q from last season , but to me he was much more in tune with the game.

They did him dirty in the edit of this episode. They abandoned all pretense of making it a question who was going. But the way he left was truly classy. He went out like a true fan of the show and showed respect for the game that was played on him.

He really did. I was a little shocked. I thought he might throw someone under the bus on the way out. The hug for Probst looked meaningful too. Ive seen every episode and i cant remember being that sure of the final vote. I do wonder who threw the extra vote at Andy. Sol for sure did. Im guessing Sue maybe.
Not much ground gained for my darkhorse - Rachel last night. I really thought she would flourish when the merge happened. Still time. She strikes me as the Aubrey type from yrs ago just more athletic. I really thought she would win that challenge last night.

A little about Sue. I have heard her say 2 or 3 times she is 45 years old. The others have been telling her how great she looks for 45. I had to bring in my wife last night to make sure i wasnt seeing things. I told her they keep telling her how good she looks for her age. I asked my wife how old she thought she was. My wife said well how long have they been on the island. I said about 12 days. I was like damn my wife is about to say 45. She said 60. I was like thank you. I told her what they had said. Maybe i missed it in an earlier episode and she told her real age. I looked her up today. 59. Makes more sense to me.

And yes, I agree. Anyone who believes her when she says she is 45 is either stupid or lying to her face.

Has she interviewed and said her real age. If so I wasnt paying attention.

He was actually likeable and showed personality during tribal... too bad he didnt play with that personality...

Heres my question though, was that really a blindside?? is it really a blindside if only one person gets blindsided?? i feel like most weeks the person going home doesnt know they are going home until they go home.... does that make basically every tribal a blindside??

or was this just a blindside because of how comfortable he was??

i do think this is going to be a good season... it looks like there is very little tribal loyalty, we can actually watch players play, and create real alliances...

I see what you are saying and i guess in a way its always a blindside. The edits though definitely make some a lot more dramatic than others. Ive always wondered what that feeling must be like to see your name on that paper. It has to be a brutal feeling especially when you are comfortable. In Romes case , probably the second vote on him was the gut punch.

Andy is starting to try to play. He is still an accident waiting to happen but at least he thinks he is responsible for some of these vote outs / blindsides and we have actually seen him conspiring. In other words he is out of his shell some.

Teeny is the sneaky player to me right now. I could easily see her in 3 different alliances before its over. Ha.

Not much on the Sierra / Sam duo that episode.
