I am in

Offense - Imani Cross Ameer is tough, but he is still under 200 pounds.

Defense - Greg McMullen or Zaire Anderson. No idea if they are starting, but I wanted someone that was a redshirt or a transfer and I think has a chance to start. I like all the young linebackers.

Special teams - Mauro Bondi(I hope he gets his kicks just a tad bit higher) or Gabe Miller. How many long snappers get offered a scholarship?

I HOPE Nate Gerry or Terrell Newby get a chance to get in the games. Nate Gerry was my sleeper pick way before he started blazing in South Dakota track and setting the State Record of 10.3 in the 100 meter.

Guys I think you're to focused on the number I stated. I was trying to explain that the D is going to be improved over last year just because of the athletes and speed on the field.

Yeah it's still probably going to be a below average defense, but I think y'all got focused to much on the number 45 instead of my actual point

I think the potential and speed is there but if they don't grasp bo concept expect more def nightmares

My biggest fear lately is bo defense concept not being easy to grasp. Talent overall is better than last year but can they play in the system is the question bc he's system is probably the hardest in college to grasp and learn.

In another system the young pup would be unleashed

I agree they might not fully grasp the concepts. But I think that their athleticism will hide some of that (not all, not even a lot, just some). So in the past couple years we've had guys that understood the system but weren't the athletes to execute it (ahem Austin Cassidy)

My point is....look David came in in 2010 and completely wrecked shop, after the season ended we learned that he didn't really even fully grasp the system when he started playing and dominating. Now in no way am I saying one of these guys will be another David, I'm just saying we have a couple guys that are amazing athletes like him...and that can kinda cover up that they don't know the system.

See what I'm saying?? I think the David comparison should clear it up a bit.

David is a once in a lifetime kind of player that why he expose how hard it was to grasp bo system but yet was a beast and broke records and started for the bucs

And your right Cassidy is an example how bo picks knowing playbook over talent

But I don't see a potential David at lb unless santos and Zaire go crazy and if they do then you are right.
But to me David suh were players you don't see and usual hide holes

I hope we do better but bo had shown he rather play playbook over talent

That the big question playbook vs talent bc 2011-till present players that were seniors or had been in the System longer got the edge over younger inexperienced talent that was faster...

Like I said, I'm not expecting another David. I'm expecting some players that are athletic enough to cover up SOME of their lack of knowledge with SIMILAR athleticism, though not near on the same level

I hope they do that would ease my fears of defense flying through our defenses

And maybe VV can be half of what suh was

Good call 4 the most part. SJB is the "most improved" player. McMullen is playing decent fb right now. Banderas is prob the most surprising. Sounds like he is far and away their fav guy at the MIKE spot right now. Anderson pushing Gerry hard. We're gonna need both of those guys to play out of their minds this sat.

I thought Anderson played better than Gerry. Hope he has a good week of practice and gets the nod.

Banderas is the suprise to me (don't know if i can call him a star yet). It was very hard for me to imagine a Freshman from the hot bed of Nebraska HS football coming in and starting first year.

I thought Anderson and Gerry are about equal. Anderson is bigger and is going to be better in the run, Gerry I just love the speed he plays at and the effort he puts in. Definitely one of those guys that if he makes a mistake, he's doing it at 100 mph.

Koji Uehara, now the closer for the Boston Red Sox, who has been nothing short of incredible
for someone of his age who had never closed for anyone before this season.
