2nd best time of year? You blasphemer.

Hey, the Braves may have to deal with the Crew.

Nothing, and I mean nothing beats playoff hockey. I'm sure tata agrees...

I feel confident facing anyone except the phillies. Would be a really good series although pitching alwyas seems to beat hitting when october comes around.

Kinda like johnny - I have an old family history connected to Detroit myself.
Can't bring myself to hate the Lions.

As far as hockey goes:
GO REDWINGS!

I will try my best to do so sir. I don't really hate the Lions, but that is mostly because they haven't been good for so long that I don't think you can hate a team that has been that bad...
Yeah - that's why no matter how good they seem on paper, I just can't put any stock in any play-off bound run until they actually do it.

If they do well that's o.k., but 8 wins or less won't surprise me.

smart man.

i personally feel that between titletown and hockeytown, you're in pretty good shape.
I'm not a huge hockey fan, but I always liked the 'Wings.

Maybe it's because when I was a little shaver I lived in Mt. Clemens.
[despite that I bleed green & gold]

when i started watching hockey in the early 90's, the only team i'd ever heard of was the wings, and they sucked throughout the 80's, so imagine my surprise when i turned them on and they were good! an easy team to root for, so they stuck.

i always wished milwaukee would have a team. hockey would thrive in that city. whenever the badgers play tournaments in the bradley center, they sell out. and the admirals do fairly well. instead, bettman needs franchises in phoenix, atlanta, etc. too bad. maybe someday...

Milwaukee could lose the Bucks in trade for NHL as far as I'm concerned.
I like the Bucks ok, but I'm sick of the NBA.

I actually kind of half assedly support the Red Wings, too. Can't root for a Chicago team, the North Stars went to Dallas right before I started watching NHL, and screw this "Wild" team.... Plus I grew up in a GM town, so I figured, the Red Wings might as well be my team. I had no idea they were the Yankees of hockey at the time, and I can't believe how much shit I take when I do sit down and watch the Red Wings and my brother in law is around...LOL. The first time he was at my parents' house...

Eff the NBA. I'm sick of it too. Play defense.

I think Detroit will still end up on the bottom of the division. Stafford's durability is a serious issue. Their defense could be dangerous, though.

So lately I've heard a lot of backlash, not just on the boards, as a result of Clay's rise to fame. I'll only admit one thing about Clay. Hey may not have the weight/size to be as badass against the run as he is against the pass. But he is a unique athlete. I don't think I've ever seen someone with quite his skill set before. His dexterity and balance is second to none.

Was at Brewers game last night.
Awesome ending! [could've been an hour earlier - didn't get home until 2am]

I am a little concerned about their defense and hitting.

Seems the post-season is a foregone conclusion [I don't think there's enough time for the Cards]

Interesting note - beautiful weather last night - roof closed 'cause of the Minny fire.
We could actually see a brown haze in the air towards the west on the way down.

Actually, you could see a haze INSIDE Miller Park! [leftover from before they closed the roof]

Just to clarify - I want the Brewers to do well.
[love their chemistry]
Just seems like they're blowing some opportunities lately.

They are definitely slipping. Don't know what else to say. Listened to the game on the radio, heard the fans booing Marcum. Not a good sign.
