Which assumes the game is or was rigged, which is balderdash. Calls are missed or undeserved just because someone got away with something early does not mean they will all the time. IMO the ref saw the hold and it was obvious and made the call, it's what they are supposed to do.

I do think the nfl and nba officials in particular ref games to at least try and keep them close

Well we are all entitled to our opinions. Why any ref would put their reputation on the line to entertain people makes little sense to me

What was most shocking about this game was what I thought would be it's biggest story. The Philly pass rush.
Philly could have sent 6th Graders after Mahones and this game would look no different.

That's one of those things that gnaws at you as a fan, because the Eagles pass rushers were close to making a potential game-changing play several times, and Mahomes just escaped. He has a very good sense of pressure and how to elude it and at least throw it away.

But it happens far too often that once a game is at risk for getting boat raced the game is magically called differently


New England/Atlanta and the last Celtics/lakers finals game are two perfect examples

I'd like to learn more about the field also and what the hell happened because it sure felt like field conditions played a role in the outcome. I don't know that it favored any one team, but it seemed both teams were slipping like crazy and I don't understand how a Super Bowl is played on a lousy field.

The field was horrible, but both teams played on the same one.

Mahomes slipped early in the game on that key 3rd down and I think the guy who missed the tackle on hurts on that long 4th down run slipped too

Totally agree, it was clearly something both teams had to adjust to. I am not saying the field favored one team over the other. I just think it's insane that that happened.

The Eagles couldn't get any pressure on Mahomes and as a result lost the game. Two different teams in the 1st and 2nd half. Chiefs outplayed the Eagles in the 2nd.

As far as the "hold" YES it was.... I am a little surprised they did call it there but it was the correct call.

Exactly and then they call the hold at the end of the game... Again, it was a hold but come on if you see a penalty you have to call it and they clearly weren't the entire game

I thought it was a smart play. Usually they would get ball and score right before halftime and then come out and score right away in 3rd. To me it looks like the Chiefs need to feel "down" to really step up their game
