None of the Superman series have really stood out to me? Admittedly, not a super dork en shit, but they have all seemed pretty average. Maybe I haven't even seen MoS? That's how uneventful they've seemed.

Interested in Brightburn tho...that looks pretty cool.

*yawn*

I mean ALL they had to do was literally steal/emulate the animated version of the prison break in and it would've been an amazing film. But instead it was a disjointed mess with a typical stupid superhero ending (guys defeat big bad world destroyer thingy!).

I was SO looking forward to Suicide Squad, and once I realized they changed it to PG-13 to get the kiddies in, I knew it'd suck. Partly because when a director makes a last minute change like that MOST of the time it's because they know their product sucks ass. And Suicide Squad definitely sucked ass..

Sure it'll get a sequel. There was enough star power in the first one...

All said, I can't wait for Margot Robbie's announced titles of Harley Quinn. I think Harley is a fascinating character and was first introduced to her before I was even a teen with the Batman animated series back in the 90s. So much to explore with the psychological element between her and the Joker. Screw Suicide Squad. Almost feels like SS was a setup for her own spin off. And true Batman fans have been waiting for this to kick off FOREVER. Margot is perfect in the role... only other person I'd put in her place is Brittany Murphy who unfortunately is dead :(

Agreed on all accounts... The Joker should have been the main antagonist in some way.

The movie was well cast, most of the characters work (with the big exception being the Enchantress), but the final product felt like a disjointed mess. It was obviously shot as a dark movie (like everything on the DCEU at the time), but after all the criticism that BvS received, they decided to reshot and try to make it a fun movie. It didn't work.

Well said. Thanks for condensing and getting straight to the point of what I was trying to say. And I think SS was actually re-shot on various scenes/components, to your point.

Well that’s just stupid. First they remove the best actor, now the best character?

They didn’t remove Will Smith. He didn’t have time to film the movie because of his schedule. They still wanted him to come back. Plus not recasting the character leaves the door open for him to come back later.

I dont mind leaving Smith out and Deadpool as well. Smith mailed in his performance from his couch and the character itself is boring.

Side note... The new title is disturbingly lazy

Looking at Will Smith's timeline... The 1st installment SS1 was Aug 2016... According to imdb, filming for his 2017 Bright movie started just 2 months after SS1 was released in theaters in August 2016. That lasted only 2 months. Filming for Aladdin went from Sept '17 to Jan '18.

What I'm trying to say is he didn't have work from February through September of 2017. And February until present... Seems like there was plenty of time to get filming kicked off for SS2 if they really wanted to cast Will Smith.

But I do agree that leaving out the character was a better call than simply recasting him.

The first one was so bad they kind of had to remake it in this one before moving forward.

Agreed. That movie was garbage.

Or as @beardown07 said, a Joker & Quinn movie would have had great appeal. Even if the Leto Joker was a little overplayed as far as appearances go.

The 2 animated Suicide Squad movies are actually quite decent. Id watch those sometime before 2021
Attack on Arkham is a much better version of the Suicide Squad movie.

Suicide Squad 2: The Suicide Squad

Suicide Squade 2: The Suicide Squad?? Is this some sort of fucking meme?

I want at least 300% more of Jared Leto please

Criminally cut out of the first film

1. Leto is trash.
2. That entire movie is trash.
3. DC needs to knock this shit off. Start over and do it right. I am hearing good things about the J.Phoenix Joker, if it really is that good. Start there and build.

That is all.

I'm in the minority that the first wasn't too bad. I think that forcing The Joker in the movie made it worse than what it could have been. Leto's Joker is the worst of them all, 100%, but for me, the rest of the movie was decent. Obviously, not the best, not in the top 15-20 Marvel/DC movies ever made, but certainly not Green Lantern or Daredevil (Ben Affleck's version).

I have said this a million times before and I will say this a million times again. What Marvel has done right with casting their characters is that they find low end actors that aren't stars that will commit to playing a characters for a decade. Robert Downey Jr was a nobody before Iron Man, Chris Evans was a nobody before Captain America, Chris Hemsworth was a nobody before Thor. They learned from having to replace people like Terrence Howard and Edward Norton that you cant depend on higher level actors to stick to a role.

Will Smith to pay deadshot was a stupid move, Ben Affleck as batman and even Robert Patterson was a dumb move. Robert Pattinson from what I read during COVID isn't getting fit enough to play the role. Marvel is taking their sweet time to find the next wolverine because they are definitely trying to find someone that will play the role for the next 10-15 years.
