so i watched this movie tonight... it wasn't bad... really it was pretty entertaining... But, the character choices made no sense to me, and the plot was much smaller than the first one...

The part was dumb as hell. The middle grew on me. Then the final act with all the Godzilla shit was dumb. D-

Starro was awesome! Also, Starro predates Ghostbusters by more than a couple decades.

This movie was actually really solid. Fun as hell. The shark guy was stupid and 100% unnecessary though.

For continuity, no question. DC would’ve just been better off keeping all the characters in their own separate areas.

Yeah, I have to agree. I actually thought the soundtrack was pretty good as well.

As for the movie, I thought it did a lot of things right. I really have only 2 criticisms.

1. The violence was excessive. I'm not squeamish about violence but I think that you turn off a lot of viewers with it. The wife would probably enjoy watching Harley Quinn's character as she likes Margot Robie but she isn't like to sit through the first 20 minutes which were just a gore fest.
2. Too long. I don't get why superhero movies always seem to be too long. 2 hours tops.

Fulsom County Blue to open the film? Point of No Return half way through the film? Guardians was about motif. These songs were picked for the situation.

Forgot about Fulsom County Blues. My connection was acting funky for the first few minutes I had the movie on, so I didn't remember that until you just mentioned it. Don't remember Point of No Return. I zoned out here and there during some of the middle parts.

I get that. Super hero movies aren't the most compelling movies for me either. But I did notice music and it was pretty good.

Movie was cheesy as hell... still trying to decide if it was worse than the original SS movie. Definitely not better.

Starro debuted in 1960 as the first villain of the JLA. He is a bit a joke, granted, but he is historically significant. He has been name-dropped as an easteregg in just about every DC property as well.

I am no prude, but I thought the swearing was there just so it would be there. They included it for shock value rather than to add to the story.

Pretty much par for the course in the DC movies, though, so I wasn’t shocked.

Flagg and Harley knew each other. I took that as a call-back to the first movie. Same with her reactions with Boomerang.

Sad that half the big names they put on a lot of their marketing posters were gone from the movie in the first 30 mins, though.

Again, that is the kind of thing I expect from the DC movies.
