Suicide Squad 2: The Suicide Squad will be the 10th film of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), following Wonder Woman 2: 1984 and preceding Black Adam.

The film has a tentative release date of Friday, August 6, 2021.

It will be written and directed by James Gunn (who previously wrote and directed Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2).

Margot Robbie will be returning as Harley Quinn (Forbes reported a couple of weeks ago that she would be cut from the film but then retracted that claim, saying it was mistaken), making it her third appearance in the role, after the first Suicide Squad (2016) and Birds of Prey (2020).

However, it was just announced that Will Smith will not be returning as Deadshot.

The role has not necessarily been recast. Will Smith may come back for a future movie, as it seems the issue with this movie is just a scheduling conflict.

So the answer is no one is playing Deadshot in this movie. Deadshot is just not going to appear in this particular Suicide Squad movie.

I feel like they could set up suicide squad for a potential movie down the road against batman which would be interesting. I didn't care to much for the first one the character development wasn't good outside of Harley Quinn and Deadshot. I also heard that the Jared Leto joker was a mess and that it didn't really sit well with fans saying they over did it with the tattoos. I know big names can sell movies but they should know that having will smith would cause scheduling conflicts that would push the movie release date back

I agree. After seeing the show, I wanted WAY more of Leto's Joker. It could've only helped the movie. Honestly, I'd have preferred to see Leto, Quinn and Affleck have their own movie instead of the suicide squad angle they chose.

Things are improving... They have Wonder Woman and that little movie called Aquaman. It's nowhere near Marvel's level, but things are looking up.

It's not their best movie... it's just the most successful. Man of Steel and Wonder Woman are both far superior.

Similarly, in Marvel, Iron Man 3 and Black Panther are the most successful solo movies, but neither is close to their best (Black Panther is good, but its success has more to do with politics than with the actual quality of the movie).

Wonder Woman would've been ok, I guess, had they edited about 30 minutes off the bastard. Way too long. Er at least it seemed that way.
