It's incredible to me that some of you don't understand that having a reputation makes things worse. Of course it's a bigger deal that it's Suh. He's a known dirty player and should be treated like one.

Getting pulled over with a .08 BAC is a bigger deal for someone with 4 DUIs on their record too. This isn't a difficult thing to grasp.

Thank you. It's called losing the benefit of the doubt, and it's his own fault.

Everyone understands that. You can let it bias your opinion though. You notice there are no Lions fans defending Raiola.

I figured he would. The league just needed to browbeat him for pulling that on the league's goldenboy. If he did that to Tannehill for example the league wouldn't have done a damn thing.
It was a cheap shot by Suh regardless if it was to Rodgers or Tannenhill. The Cowboys will end the Lions season this week.

This is the right decision. Even if intentional, this was just a step, not a stomp. That's a big difference, IMO. Sure he's a big man, but the force applied in a stomp is much, much greater.

There are degrees of seperation. If you agree that If it were not Suh then it is a non issue then how can it be upgraded to unforgivable because it was Suh?

I didn't say it would be a non issue. What I'm saying is people should be afforded punishment based on their reputation. Someone with a clean reputation should get a fine. Hell, if this was Suh's first offense he should get a small fine.

The difference is Suh's clear disregard for the well being of other players which is evident by the way he refuses to take his punishments thus far seriously. At some point you need to get the message through and it's not getting through with fines. He will do something like this again.

It was the wrong decision in my opinion.

So if Suh pulls the same stunt this weekend, should he get the same $70k fine or should it be more since he's a repeat repeat offender?

I'm sure it will be another accident. No ill intent from that innocent angel.

I think it's the right decision.... Suspending Suh for such a big game would be punishing Detroit fans more than anything... Now this game get's a helluva lot more interesting ...

The way it was explained on the NFLN, the reason the penalty was reduced to a fine is because the leage altered a player safety rule earlier this year. Basically, if you played something like 32 games in a row without an incident, including playoff games and 2 preseason games, you got a clean slate again. Such apparently just avoided being treated like a repeat offender. So he was "guilty" hence the fine, but the appeals guy didn't hold his past against him.

Player smokes weed, gets suspended for the season. Look to intentionally hurt another player, no consequences.

Roger Goodell is a fucking joke.

One is against the law and can send you to prison. The other "trying to hurt a player" is not. Are you that dense?
