Ok, but really, how many guys are there like that? More specifically, how many of those guys play in the NL? I'd bet most NL teams don't have a guy like that. The AL is superior because AL teams spend more money on payroll than NL teams. If the money is close, a power hitter is going to choose the stacked lineups of the AL.

Until we get a salary cap, that's how it's going to be.

FWIW, Panda will hit 30 in a year at some point...I just hope it's with the Giants.

:L

Brace yourself........

Until October.

Sincerely
The 2010 San Francisco Giants
The 2011 St. Louis Cardinals

I knew that was coming. Even I know what a small sample size means.

For the record in the 21st century the 2 leagues are equal in WS championships, 6-6.

I don't even want to sound greedy. I don't necessarily need an entire lineup full of guys who can hit 30 bombs. I just want one guy whose resume includes a 30-home run season. Just one.

Telling you, Carlos Quentin 4 yrs $40 mil

Not much help in 2012

Nice of the As to sweep them for us. Now let's thank them by sweeping them back.

Not much help in 2012

If he's not locked up by SD, then I really think we need to pursue him, and extend Melky if he's still a gamer come the end of the year.

I'm not expecting the world from Blanco, but I can live with his career averages, especially when you consider the plus D.

Quentin LF (gotta limit the wear and tear on this guy if you want the full benefit of the investment)

Shark ( .348 career OBP still looks nice in the lead off spot)

Melkman RF (Need I say more? His skill set at the plate is what this park was made for)

That's power, speed, OBP, and BA from your outfield.

We made the investments on Bum and Cain, now it's time to surround them with the pieces. We have the 3B, 1B (fingers X) C already, now lets get that true clean up hitter and r*pe the West!

Good post. I wonder if 4/40 gets it done for Quentin? Of course, if the money is close, he'll go to the AL
