Sounds like I missed the right game. Saw my daughter off to a six week mission trip to Bosnia.

Stats I am tracking:

Scored: 277
Runs Allowed: 275

Unearned runs: 35

RISP = .218

Shutdown innings: 77.2%

0 errors: 24-13

1 error: 9-6

2 errors: 3-6

2+ errors: 2-6

Series records: 13-7-3

Opening games in series: 12-11

Where's that 30 HR guy Cam is always nagging about? Looks like both Trumbo and Trout could be that guy. In honor of Watergate, can we just have someone break into the offices of Angels scouts and steal their notes? Where do they find these guys?

Looks like the NL West is getting swept again.

Hate to mention this but the AL is smoking the NL again in all interleague matchups, like they do every year.

The AL is the more talented league, especially lately with the high profile FA moves (Pujols, Fielder, not that either are tearing it up yet).

Guy is on a pitch count, your pitcher just had a stressful inning, and you guys are hacking?

Together we're Giant.

There's plenty to like about our team, but hitting approach ain't among the reasons. Hasn't been for a while, since Teh Lord roamed the basepaths.

It's shocking to think that the Angels payroll is 154M this year, when Pujols' 2012 salary is less than the Giants are paying Aaron Rowand.

Until October.

I don't even want to sound greedy. I don't necessarily need an entire lineup full of guys who can hit 30 bombs. I just want one guy whose resume includes a 30-home run season. Just one.

Fuck you for bringing this up. ;) I hate your facts! :)

Yeah, but in 6 years, when Poo-holes is hitting .265 with 15 HR and 65 RBIs and he's making $27 million to do it, we'll be more than happy to point out the fact that the Giants aren't stuck with that deal.

Sincerely,

I am a TOTAL hypocrite for pointing that out and I know it.

Understandable, but doesn't that guy only hit 20-25 homers if he plays 81 games at The Phone Booth? They have three or fours of those guys.

Travis Blackley with 8 strong innings against the Doyers today, 3 hits, one run, no walks, six K's.

Doyers and I's 1-1 in the 9th.

Way to go, Travis!

Why exactly did we DFA this guy?

Ok, but really, how many guys are there like that? More specifically, how many of those guys play in the NL? I'd bet most NL teams don't have a guy like that. The AL is superior because AL teams spend more money on payroll than NL teams. If the money is close, a power hitter is going to choose the stacked lineups of the AL.

Until we get a salary cap, that's how it's going to be.

FWIW, Panda will hit 30 in a year at some point...I just hope it's with the Giants.
