Wonder what the actual rules are. Too lazy to look it up. I would imagine if a major penalty occurred that it would still stand, even if time was given back

They got it right based off the rules, but the rule is stupid. I suppose its supposed to hold people accountable for their actions regardless of situation, but its still stupid.

I can see why they have it. I mean if someone takes a major penalty like boarding or a hit to the head, you shouldn't just wipe it out

Refs let so much go in the final half of the third period. With that being said, they let at least 3 other penalties in the first ten minutes against the Jets go as well. Game management sucks but the Ducks sure seem to take advantage of it.
