It was also interference, head was principle point of contact and it looked like seabrook leaped up into backes. Suspendsble hit under the rules IMO

I'm still learning it bro. I have watched a few games a year for a while, but this year I have been taking in as much as possible. I certainly see where he crossed the line with a shot to the head though. And I'm still uncertain about what constitutes an interference call.

Just saw the Seabrook hit. To me, that's a bad one. He launched himself into an off-balance player near the boards, made principle contact with the head, and then drove it into the boards.

It's wholly unsurprising that Backes looked to have some head damage. That sort of hit pretty much guarantees it.

At least three games.

the thing that will limit the suspension is he is not a repeat offender, actually the recipient of this kind of hit.Toews was hit like this and the argument was that Toews changed levels when he got hit and thats why there was no suspension at all.

These are the blackhawks. The team that drives me nuts because they dont hit or stand up for their team mates, now get egged into a hitting contest, has the coach bitching about playing physical and they are off their game. If Seabs gets suspended, it wont be because of that hit or the fact he isnt a repeat offender, its setting the precedent in the entire tournament. You dont suspend seabrook its gonna happen again. The thing the NHL punishment guys know is Backes is the guy that will make this hit on a player with his head down.12All kind of st louis hitting, all kind of interference that isnt being called except to kane. Brookbank will be in the lineup if seabs is suspended and he is the guy that will hit with intent.

Basically, if the guy has or is near the puck, you can put him on his ass (legally of course). If the puck is not near the guy, you can't just hit him.

Think of it like football and wide receivers, you can tackle, grab, push, throw a guy once he has the ball, but when he doesn't, only limited contact is allowed.
