eloco is saying things that I am not about to say....

I hope we draw anybody but Pittsburgh in the first round, honestly.

I just want to say that I love this thread.

I LOVE this thread.

I also love how nobody even consider a response to my on topic, well written response. Clearly I had not read the whole thread before I posted it :L

I have to ask this question, since it was brought up. How does one Caps fan welcome a series against Pittsburgh so much that he believes it will be over before the puck is even dropped:rolleyes:....

and another Caps fan says that he hopes they draw anyone BUT the penguins in the first round?

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. this place is testament to that. But, considering you guys are fans of the same team, how is there that much difference in opinion on this? Are you guys watching the same team? Glass 1/2 empty vs glass 1/2 full? What gives?

And thx for the rep consideration, 46, same back to you... I believe I got Loco last week, he'll have to wait awhile

I was Caps fan all through the 90s when we wee supposed to beat you guys all the time. I also live in Pittsburgh so may have a bit more of a perspective on how dangerous a team scorned with Bylsma at the helm can be.

Also way to paint us all with one stroke. We are individuals DAMMIT!!!!! Racist.... ;)

Don't bring that up with eloco... he doesn't like to dwell on the past...:D

I was witness to the upsets of the Capitals in the 90's. The win against Washington in the 2009 Post-Season was probably pretty awful for the organization and long-time Caps fans.. during 24/7 this season, I think I remember hearing someone say how much Pittsburgh has owned Washington in the playoffs. It obviously would be a huge monkey of their backs if they did meet up with Pittsburgh and put the beatdown on them.

Sorry for painting with the broad brush:rolleyes: I just found it funny

I want to play the pens, but if we avoid them and move on without having to face them, I don't mind one bit. It would mean alot if we beat the pens in a series, even Corsby-less.

At this point in the season, everyone wants to face the Penguins in the PS for obvious reasons, and I don't blame the fans of the opposition for hoping to see that match-up.

I just have a hunch that Sidney Crosby is going to be back at some point before the end of the season. When Shero went out and added two wingers and traded a blue-liner for another one, it furthered my opinion that Sid will be back. If Ray had any info on Sid otherwise not returning I believe he may have gone after a center at the deadline, instead.

If Sid comes back, fans of the opposition may change their tune, especially when u consider Crosby would be centering a line with the likes of Neal & Kovy, instead of Kunitz & Dupuis.

I still want to play the Pens for I guess personal reasons, but like I said I'll take a Cup over a series win vs the Pens. I already posted it, but I'll say it again, If (and I think he does) come back, he isn't going to be the same Crosby you've had all season...

Sid probably won't be on the pace he was before his injury.. no doubt. But, if he plays this year, I expect him to be successful. He won't play if he isn't 100%.

Hee hee. Why would ANY Caps' fan want to dwell in the past? ;)

My point was just that games against one another in recent seasons (especially the present season) is MUCH more relevant to predicting a playoff series than a playoff series from two decades ago. That's all.

True, but I don't want them for the obvious reasons, I want it for revenge. I'd actually prefer Crosby is there and healthy, b/c I still think we'd work you. Just my not so humble opinion.

Until the Caps have any type of playoff success, I'm not overly concerned about them... is that fair, probably not... but I'm sure folks in the West felt the same way about the Sharks....

I don't get that argument. So b/c a team has had playoff failure, they are always doomed to repeat it?

We're going to clown stomp you. Can't wait. Don't go winning your division for the first time in forever and avoid us now, ya hear?

Not gonna fight about your cockiness, I don't really care about it, the playoffs are a while away still...but it's only been 3 years. 3 years is not forever in most people's books.

Maybe it's because you haven't seen us hold a banner raising ceremony for our division banner...I can see why that threw you off. :D ;)

I guess because the Caps have had very good regular season success these past few years, meaning they are a good team, but for some reason, they don't produce in the playoffs. The players are relatively the same from year to year and the results have been the same... so I guess that's why I feel that way... playoffs, so they say, are a different type of game and the Caps haven't "proven" they can play that way.
