Why the fuck is everyone ranking Iowa St ? Purdy is good but they lost all their other good skill talent and their D is just ok. I mean it's Iowa St for Christ's sake . They went 8-5 last year and lost a ton . I don't get it

They return a lot on defense. They should be a top 15/20 defense this season. Plus after OU and Texas the Big 12 looks wide open. Somebody has to finish 3rd, and they are the best bet IMO.

4 teams in the Big 12 have new head coaches. Baylor is still in sort of a rebuild mode. They have the best defense in the league. Also for a quarterback driven league they arguably have the best one. I agree skill position talent relative to the rest of the league is a question mark but they should be pretty good this year.

Ya...but there are several of my teams at the bottom that I believe Purdue could end up being better than. I like Purdue's coach...just don't think they'll have the depth to do damage week in and week out. But they'll screw up a couple of teams seasons.

There’s only nine teams returning more starters and most of those teams are awful.

Sure and that's fine but Montgomery and Butler were what made that team dangerous ( along with Purdy ). ISU doesn't recruit NFL guys so losing 2 of them is a lot more damaging to them than a normal P5 imo

A lot of peeps are ranking Kentucky. Kentucky lost a whole lot, and I don't think they're in reload, not rebuild status just yet. They can definitely prove me wrong, but I expect Kentucky to revert back to the Kentucky we're used to.

They're also leaving Auburn unranked. I mean if you do your preseason poll based on what you think they will finish I guess I get it. Schedule is tough but we have a top 5 defense

It's odd no one is as high on Minnesota as I am. 17 returning starters from a 7 win team that ended the year blowing out 3 solid teams . Gophers have a pretty easy schedule too. I think they'll likely be favored in 9 of their games ( maybe 10 )

They were 2 and 3 star recruits that developed into great, NFL caliber players. No reason to assume the coaching staff didn’t play a part in that and can’t develop more NFL players.

Some coaching staffs develop players, others don’t. They could take a big step back, but I’m not sure they will.

No, no, no, no, no....haven't you been paying attention millia? Per Gordon Gee, it is a murderer's row schedule if you play in the B1G...regardless of the conference draw. And they are going to play an away game against a G5 team. A certified triplle G.... Gordon Gee Gauntlet

Haven’t done my rankings and haven’t look too much at them let.

But in general, why should I rank someone higher because of future schedule or how I think a team will finish later in the season

It’s interesting how Auburn is favored over Oregon and yet ranked below.

Good idea, if they'd steal Oklahoma, they'd likely annex West Texas too...and then you'd have to live in Oklahoma.
