NFL should ensure the National Anthem is sung by a military person in full uniform in every game this season. These guys are welcome to kneel if they want, I really don't care. Let's see how much resolve they have after their commercial endorsers exercise their right to drop them..

No doubt or he is a racist. If Brady didn't stand I would feel the same way and lose all respect

DJ keep telling people what you are making to eat, like anybody gives a fuck instead of giving me a BS. You don't know what I'm thinking loser

This thread has turned into the typical PF thread. Disagree and insults are thrown around.

Sad. We live in 'Murica and can't have a civil discussion like adults.

Most people have just heard the edited version.

Man, if they sang the full version, the whole league might kneel. South Park's "Operation: Get Behind The Darkies" comes to mind, a clear reference to the War of 1812's advancement on Canada, as the US did in the South Park movie. SSB was written about the War of 1812.

Oh, say, can you see? By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air.
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave?
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In fully glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution!
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. We love it so much, I think you do too.

No I wouldn't if he sat down or kneeled, I would not respect him anymore, but still root for the team to win. You would see see any post of me defending him, 100% true

Until you are in that situation you cant even speculate what was going on

Life in danger means exactly what ? please give me a exact no excuse example! because that is not possible for every example you can give I can give a example that is the exact opposite

Bottom line obey the POLICE and you will survive 99.9 % disobey and you will die 99.9%

Seems simple to me
It means if there is a person with a gun trying to shoot you, shoot the fuck out of him. That's fine. If a person is mouthy of just resisting arrest, sorry you do not have the right to shoot and kill that person.

Agree'd but it doesn't mean you get to walk away either.

Here's my way of seeing the situation. Cops aren't out gang banging looking to kill someone, they are either called to a situation or see a suspicious situation in progress, and respond to it. If the person in question would cooperate, at worse he'd be arrested, taken in and booked, then have his day in court.
I'm not going to address every situation but the Tamir Rice case was handled wrong by the police, I will freely admit that, but I will stop way short of calling it racial. It was terrible police work. Granted I'm not a police officer, but I did serve 20 in the USAF as an SP. We were taught to use our vehicle as protection when responding to any situation, not drive up to within 10 feet of a suspect with a gun. The cop who shot Tamir fucked up in my mind, but the cop driving the vehicle is the one who really fucked up by putting his partner in that situation. To me its not racism it's guy unfit or to lackadaisical to be able to perform the job.

In 1994 we moved to Vegas, the LVMPD had a warranted reputation of shooting first asking later, didn't matter if you were Black, White, Brown, or Green. When I started allowing my son more roaming space, I sat him down and told him if he's ever approached by Metro, do exactly as directed, do not run, do not mouth off, and Never Never Never put your hand where the police can't see them.

I don't know if you have children, but if there was a a couple of nearby areas where r*pes are prevalent would you not tell them to stay away? If you know cops will shoot for resisting shouldn't we teach ourselves to not resist?

By the way my idiotic son decided one day to walk around the neighborhood with a pellet gun, from 20 feet away you could not tell the caliber. The cops were called, he did exactly as I told him, cops didn't shoot, had he made one wrong move he wouldn't be here today.

Except there are cops out there looking for a reason to kill people, usually racist cops. I'm not saying cops are always wrong or even mostly wrong, but when it's life and death, you don't get the benefit of the doubt when you are wrong. You can't just take someones life and say oops, my bad guys. Sure a lot of this could be prevented if people just listened to cops and are respectful, but being disrespectful and even running doesn't make it ok to be shot.

Yep, 90 seconds a week showing respect is way too much to ask. Great example they're setting. Yeah I know they didn't sign up to be role models. Even though it's their right there are some things you just should or shouldn't do. Like laughing at a funeral, sure you the right but just because you can doesn't mean you should.

This has gotten money donated, eyes on it and people talking about it. It's worked exactly like it should.

Then those folks should not be so myopic and take a look at this thing from a couple different angles.

I love america, I stand for the anthem, but i understand & support Kaep's position because what he says is true.

Exactly. Do all of you assholes on this site stand for the anthem when you are watching games at home or in a bar or wherever? I bet you don't.

This is quite possibly the stupidest stance you can take on the issue.

Did the founding fathers say: "Fuck it, we don't like what the British are doing. Let's get out of here." Did Martin Luther King decide that America wasn't treating black people properly so he was going to leave? So many of the great things that have happened in America are because people didn't like the way things were and decided to stand up and fight for what is right.

Go read a history book and stop with the fake patriotism.
This country is great because people throughout history decided to take a stand for what they believe in.

I think the key difference here is that the people you mentioned stood up & fought. What Kaepernick and supporters are doing is coming off as all talk and no action. So he sits during a song? What does that do? The issue he thinks he's bringing attention to is already talked about every day here. It's nothing new. Now what is he going to DO about this supposed oppression? Yes, he has s platform, but I feel like he's coming off as a spoiled child instead of a man. I can't help but think of Pat Tillman when this shit comes up. He's someone that had a similar platform and instead of putting on a dog & pony show, he DID something for what he believed in.

Fuck you, Colin.
And Kaep is doing something for what he believes in. You don't have to go join the military or shoot people to do something. He is talking, he is acting and he is getting other people to act with him. He started something that others seem to be following. People are donating money, looking at the problem, discussing it. I don't know how you can say nothing is happening.

BS running from the Cops is a PERFECT way to get shot
Bottom line is very SIMPLE do what they tell you to do and settle the rest of it in court

If you choose to do otherwise you could just be committing suicide by your dumb decisions

So cops have to wait to be shot at first? You don't care that if they wait to be shot at first, that may be it? 38 police officers have died due to gunfire this year (so far). These people had families that they wanted to go home to. Cops aren't mind readers. If someone is acting sketch or violent, they run the risk of having something really bad happen to them. It's that simple.

I'm out of here, a few here are too dense. Cops shouldn't carry guns and just use blackjacks or billyclubs

I think you meant to say AfricanAmericanJacks.

And you should consider changing your name.

Lol If you don't think what he is doing is bringing attention to what he wants, you are dumber than most people. The more athletes that do this, and their will be more, the more attention it gets. Vets are backing Kap. Blacks are backing Kap. Whites are backing Kap. It's not just a black thing. This country has oppressed black people for a long long time. Cops in this country are running around shooting innocent people and no one seems to care. It's about time that someone on a big stage did something to be seen.

Unarmed =/= innocent

Let me guess, you were one of those hands up, don't shoot retards?
