Still don't think that proposal was a bad offer for a buy making 120% of the Astros entire payroll...

I still think that teams needs to be blown the fuck up..the problem? Lee is going to be like 37 before they're any good again...is it really worth keeping him?

Being 37 is irrelevant. He's not a pitcher reliant on velocity.

Boston is on his no-trade list anyway.

I was telling JD this the other day

They are really an easy rebuild given their circumstances. Major issues, middle relief and they need some bats

Halladay, Utley, Young and Chooch all gone regardless ... hopefullly they can trade them. Thats about 40 - 50 mil in payroll right there. More than enough to get 2 to 3 quality bats.

They need to resign Kyle Kendrick and then they have a top 3 of; Lee, Hamels and Kendrick. Not shabby at all.

Rock the Mets future can be pretty good if Wheeler is as good as advertised i think Harvey already is..

Alderson has done a shitty job to put it mildly in bring in any kind of major league talent to the team. Sandy will be judged on what trades and free agebt signins he makes now that the Mets have 60 million coming off the books after this season, they need a ton of help offensively..

You know what people are going to ask for when making calls for offense? Better hope the Mets don't try to spin one bird in hand into two future offensive "can't miss" players. Keep drafting, sign a few second tier FA's that don't cost Pujols or Josh money, and wait another couple of years.

But I think they try to move one of their young studs to win sooner, and that will be the wrong move.

Anybody who's willing to even discuss this topic?

Go away. I want nothing to do with you.

I enjoy stupid sometimes, but this? It's a level I want nothing to do with.

Being 37 is irrelevant. He's not a pitcher reliant on velocity.

Boston is on his no-trade list anyway.

Every pitcher is reliant on staying healthy...and history has shown that pitchers north of 35 have a hard time with that....

His age, coupled with the contract, are going to affect his value in the trade market...as there are literally only 1 or 2 teams that would even consider it...

Remember when Johann was traded? Twins didn't get shit for him..why? There wasn't enough teams lining up to sign him for big money long term...and therefore the Mets were essentially bidding against only themselves.

Result? They got just a couple of lower level minor leaguers, Guerra and CarGo, and 2 more mediocre prospects.. what I suggested for Lee? Blew the ever loving shit out of what the Twins got...and it was a reasonable comp due to Johann's salary demands....

You can disagree with me...but...I've seen a lot of trades take place in MLB...and the asking price you think the Phils should be asking for? Exactly zero teams in MLB would pay it...

Happy Wednesday.

Jordan Lyles looking like more of the real deal than Bud Norris for the Astros. Brew Crew gets thier tails whipped off 10-1.

I bet there's a debate going on right now about it on Greenberg's twitter account.

It'll be on his wife Stacy's twitter account.

Cause, you know...she's famous, or something.
