its funny...when he got arrested (my friend) it was a sting...he was actually working for a house cleaning service, and would take diamonds out of rings and replace them with cubic zerconias.

he did this for months, taking the diamonds to local jewelers to sell. he wasnt arrested for robbing a jewely store, but he was arrested at one for selling the loot.

the headline in the metro-west daily news was "diamonds are a thiefs best friend"

Basford, 22, has spend the last two seasons with the Yankees' New York-Penn League affiliate. In 19 relief appearances, the right-hander has a 5.13 ERA with 7.9 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9.
