Note to a friend;

Don't you just love the way people use basic stats in an attempt to make some inane point while hoping that others will just go along with what's presented without thinking about, then answering the question...Why?

Kirk Cousins is a good middle of the pack, serviceable QB. NO one will argue that. He has comparable numbers at first blush to some of the best in the game, but falls very short when you look into those numbers in a quest to answer the question... 'then why is one guy a top 5 player and the other at his best is out of the top ten?' Here are the reasons why...

Or Ironman may have made a difference when TB ran all over us in the WC game. I still harp on the defensive game plan vs TB which deployed a 4 man rush, too many LB's and way too much zone. Brady stood back there and had his way, pitiful plan JDR!
I believe that what that game exposed was how deeply in need of upgrades at linebacker exists. This team needs an all downs all purpose MLB and speed upgrades at one perhaps both of the other two spots. Ironman was missed indeed, but if traded, this is one of the easier positions to replace in a draft.

Yeah, me too!

Question: (in my best Alex Trebek voice) Any chance former WFT player and current Packer GM Mark Murphy would want to deal Aaron Rogers?

Not a bad offer, so it's 4 for 1 instead of 5 for 1 as I suggested. If you had to sweeten the pot a bit would you be willing to give up a 3rd perhaps another 2nd or some other player? Just trying to see what a 5-1 player trade would look like from you. ( I would eliminate one of those proposed 3rd's to get to 4-1))

I may add in a third in 2023 or a fourth in 2021.

Just another thought on any proposed Watson trade and that concerns Houston's propensity to make unbelievable trades to their detriment. (Tunsil, Hopkins, they are wise to want to trade J.J. Watt now.)

Anyway, I'm asking the board, is that the rationale behind wanting Watson yet being unwilling to make a smart move to get him? In effect, if Miami and Arizona could fleece them why not us for Watson?
Because Dan Snyder has never fleeced anyone in the NFL. He is always the fleecee. History has a way of repeating itself.

Watching and hearing Mark Murphy's response, "We are not that stupid", says likely not.

That's fair, I don't think that they would balk at an offer like this. At minimum it puts Washington into a competitive position to deal. 4 or 5 players that helps both teams won't be dismissed.

I think they would completely pass on this. I believe they want at least two first round picks, more picks, and players.

You've presented a scenario in which they get 1 first, a second in 2022, Ion and Allen. When asked you added a 3rd or 4th in 2021. While I agreed that it's not a bad offer, you're right, it doesn't meet your threshold, to wit, 2 firsts.

That said,

I suggested, first this year and next, 3rd in 2022, 2023, Matt Ioannidis and/or Daron Payne, which meets your beliefs regarding what they would accept, perfectly.

This is going to get ugly for Houston. IMO they did it to themselves by owner not understanding the power of keeping your word vs breaking it. Not a good look for them and honestly I can’t blame Watson for wanting out after all he has put up with.

I can’t give up the extra first.

I'm also concerned our DB backfield may take a step back next year. While I like them all, Darby, Fuller, Curl & Everett (Reaves), I believe this group as a whole "over performed", and hopefully as a whole they don't take a step back next year because, they were really good this year.
