Could Sam Williams be a future starter? I was impressed with what he did as a rookie

so...Pollard 2.0 with Vaughn is a good runningback room?

I don't know, those 1 & 2 yard runs in hee-man situations can have value. I'd rather have Zeke in the RB room than Cooks, maybe thats just me.
Well Emmitt was 221 at 5’9” Pollard is 6’ 201 Elliot is 6’ 228
Im not comparing either to Emmitt other than size does the 20 pounds mean that much ? I believe that the want too is the biggest factor
But then in racing the saying goes “ there is no replacement for displacement “ and I believe you have to have a battering ram type back in some situations to go along with the road graders on the OL.
That said I would kick the tires on Cooks at vet minimum or a touch more team friendly price only depending on how you can manage Pollard and the message to him. On Zeke that’s a lot to ask of a former star to resign as backup duty on the way out the football door.
JMHO.

That number should be retired IMO but I thought when we drafted Micah he should have got that number if it was being issued.

I doubt Cooks is looking for a vet min. Deal. He refused to lower his contract which is why he isnt still a viking.
Dont think he goes from that to vet min.

Interesting.

Jim Jeffcoat (for us older peeps) had 102.5 sacks. Played with Randy White & TooTall Jones all the way into the early 90's.
Never made a probowl! :surprised:

If I remember correctly Jimmy wanted to replace Jeffcoat due to his age,but Jimmy kept him around because he was extremely disruptive as a pass rusher off the bench.

Bill Bates was another one from the previous regime that he kept around.

Jeffcoat was very underated

I'm excited about Deuce being in there. I think he's going to be a very talented player who can help us immediately."...Dak Prescott

I got a huge feeling about D. Sproles Part 2
I got that same feeling about Vaughn. He got the same kind of elusiveness. All he needs is a small crease and he could be off to the races. Plus he is a great receiver . As we know our backs get dinged so he would be a potential starter if Pollard misses any time. Vaughn just has a chip on his shoulders and is out to prove people wrong. Lots of determination and heart. He is a baller

The Cowboys have finally added another kicker to their roster, signing Brandon Aubrey, who spent the past two seasons with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL..

Aubrey's path to the NFL is not a normal one, even though he grew up in Plano, Texas. He was a star soccer player, attended Notre Dame and was selected in the first round of the 2017 MLS draft by Toronto FC.

He was selected by Birmingham in 2022 and in his first year in professional football was named an All-USFL kicker. In 2023, he made 14 of 15 field goal attempts and all 35 extra points for Birmingham.

The Cowboys are hoping to strike again in the USFL pool after having signed league MVP KaVontae Turpin last year and seeing him be named to the Pro Bowl as a returner.

he has to be a better kicker than maher was, especially at extra points.
weird thing about Maher. Was he was actually kicking ass until near the end of the season where he suddenly got the yips. probably the worst I have ever seen from a kicker.
