Toomer broke a slant for a long TD right after the first Ware "offsides"Sorry , maybe it was Toomer that got behind us that first drive

I don't care about his shape. I care about the money spent on his weak ass play.Oh good. Zeke in the best shape of his life...again...

Patrick Crayton choked the game away vs the Giants. A wasted opportunity similar to the game vs the packers when Dez got screwed. A rod basically playing on one leg and the defense could not get any pressure . Another wasted opportunity. Very frustrating. Those two teams should have been in the NFC Championship.I still think of this game often. It was such a great season up until that game. I think T.O. was obviously still bothered from the injury from Week 16. If you look at our last 4 games of the season though- the team was not playing well. I remember killing the Jets on Thanksgiving , but after that it wasnt real pretty. The next week was a shootout vs GB. Great game and all , but it probably cost Favre his job in GB. He was hurt the first series of the game. Arod came in and diced us up all night. It was suppose to be a good game , but nobody expected a good game after Favre went out.
The next week was a struggle against a bad Detroit team at Detroit. We escaped with a 1 point win.
Then came Philly @ home. Might have been Romos worst game ever. If it wasnt his worst it was his second worst. Of course that can be debated. The year before was the Carrie Underwood game on Christmas day. I always thought that was his worst. Bad loss vs Philly.
Then they roll into Carolina. Escape with win. TO got hurt. We played against their 3rd string QB, who was actually one our last cuts that year- Matt Moore. Still a win, but again they werent clicking.
Finally @ Skins. Week 17. Who cares? I think we did. I think they wanted to get Terry Glenn back on the field. They also wanted Romo to break some single season records. Well , that may have happened , but we got hammered.
What does this last month mean? Probably not much. A game is a game and for the majority of the season , we were the 2nd best team in the league. They just werent playing like they did the first 3 months. You can take a bunch of plays in that Giants game and change them for the better and we win. Both regular season games vs. them were tight- probably tighter than the ending scores.
When i think about 2007 though, I think we missed a chance because we had no big time injuries really. Jason Ferguson was hurt week 1. Nice player but not a game changer. Terry Glenn didnt play all year until the end. Besides those 2 and the ankle injury to TO - there wasnt much. Unlike today, where there is weekly major injuries it seems.
So when i look back on it and think how did we fuck that up :
1. We never give the Giants enough credit. That pass rush was lethal. The secondary , although guys off the streets and beat up, had some old vets back there that could play. These same Giants held arguably the best offense that i have seen to two TDs.
2. Werent playing well going in. Had we been figured out?? That game we came out running the ball with Barber. All year we were pass first it seemed anyway. It was like JG went back to the 90s blue print. Did he do this because of TOs injury.? Romo was still young and wild. Did he do it to keep the turnovers down? I just remember it was the first game Barber started all year. Not that it mattered because Barber was the better back. He had 27 carries that day.
Despite the off sides penalties , i thought the D played fairly well that day. Of course Plax got behind the secondary once, but that was usually a given.
Ive heard Strahan say it more than once. Dallas was the best team they played all year.
Definitely a heart breaking end to a great season.

Exactly. Every year the coaching is going to be better, the draft picks will all be great and all of our free agents will have sured up all of our weak spots. And every year we still have the same problem and bring in a slew of new bargain basement free agents and our coaching sucks and we start all over the next yearMe every time I read something positive about the Cowboys this off-season:
Yea man I’m tired of the consistent inconsistency. From now on I’m going into every year expecting a 8-9 or 9-8 record lolExactly. I think the drafts have been good lately. Coaching? Not so much. Any coach that give Dorance Armstrong snaps over Randy Gregory is an imbecile . All the trick plays which lost games. Going for it on 4th down from your own 30. What could possibly go wrong?Exactly. was the contract given to him before or after this "weak ass play"? and was it before or after the O-line broke down? not defending him just askingI don't care about his shape. I care about the money spent on his weak ass play.
It was after a hold out.was the contract given to him before or after this "weak ass play"? and was it before or after the O-line broke down? not defending him just asking
When you look at the numbers you can see how he got screwed. This likely is one of the reasons Nolan is gone. It was clear to everyone that Nolan could not evaluate talent. Gregory was clearly a better pass rusher than Smith,Armstrong and Crawford. It could be argued that Gregory is the best pure pass rusher on the entire team. So I give my middle finger to Nolan as a wave goodbye. Never liked the hire anyway.
Randy Gregory felt like Mike Nolan didn’t give him a fair chance in 2020

I’m still barely over that Championship loss, to all Cowboys fans’ credit, it was a catch IMOGod it took me like weeks to get over that Green Bay game, even them losing the next week only did so much.
