That was a real tough one. Cabo, Jessica Simpson on tv every other time out, the BS offsides on Ware right before the Amani Toomer TD (really about 3 BS offsides on Ware I think), the horrible intentional grounding call (the rule stated to avoid a sack and no one was near him), running game disappearing in the second half, Giants playing DBs off the street and TO shut down one on one all game, Fasano dropping a TD and of course "That's my quarterback"

That’s funny cause after that Clayton drop Joe Buck joked that the rest of the team shoulda went to Cabo with Romo cause he was the only one playing well up to that point. I was sitting there smh like shut up Joe lol.

Yes that Giants secondary was beat to hell in the second half. Romo completes that pass to T.O. & Clayton makes that catch we host Green Bay that next week.

That game was a true heartbreaker. Almost the entire damn team made the pro-bowl that year; they win the super bowl they would’ve been regarded as a top 5 team all time I truly believe that.
How about the numerous drive killing penalties. The o-line was awful that game. Why the hell did we watch this again? LOL

The penalties were trash yes but the game was still theirs for the taking and they didn’t take it.

Hey it was football in TV so I watched lol I didn’t finish the whole thing. After that Clayton drop I turned off the TV in disgust and went to bed.

Crayton had a huge ego and choked that game away IMO. Course the Giants had the refs help the entire game. I wish Goodell would retire, the sooner the better. Worst biased POS commish in NFL history!!

Richard Sherman being linked to dallas again. I hate this media driven click bait. I do a Google search and it takes first spot under my search bar.

I don't hate the idea 100% but a guy of his age and playing time can go elsewhere or play for minimums. We need young..... hungry players. Would be nice to have him teaching along with Dan and that is about as much as I would like to see him get on the field.

Yep, Jerry certainly loves the attention. Too me this team needs to keep the focus on football, not stupid interviews
I know the comment I am about to make is going to sound ridiculous and I wouldn't say it about any other team, but with Jerry's obsession with promotion and having the Cowboys being the center of attention,,,I could actually see us keeping a player that for whatever reason attracts eyeballs on Hard Knocks over another player that may be a better fit for our football team if a choice has to be made during the filming of Hard Knocks. I'm not saying we would put a guy on the final roster, but just during the filming of Hard Knocks.

If the money fit I can't think of a team that could use Richard Sherman more than the Cowboys. Our culture sucks, our defense seemingly quit during a game last year, our DBs are one of the worst groups in the league and most are young and inexperienced and he knows the defense. Plus if he still could play at a #1 CB level (let's call it top 20 or so in the league) it would put us in the mix in the NFC. The two problems I see are we don't have the cap space and I'm not sure if he can still be a #1CB.

There is a good chance that is the case, but IIRC he was really good in 2019 when he played and hurt last year. So, who knows

I do think it would be smarter to extend Gregory now instead of bring in washed up free agents

I really like this past draft and the type of players we got for the defense. I think at least 4 future new starters on defense will come out of this draft.

I am really looking forward to having a Strong interior DL. So I am hoping all of our young peeps there will be as successful as we hope.
That above all else will improve our defense leaps & bounds. All cores of the defense. DBs, edge rushers, LBs, Run Defense.
Everyone loves all the sexy positions of defense, but Interior Defense (DT, NT, MLB, ILB) has always been the key to greater defenses.
We should/could improve in every single one of these spots this coming year.

I still think of this game often. It was such a great season up until that game. I think T.O. was obviously still bothered from the injury from Week 16. If you look at our last 4 games of the season though- the team was not playing well. I remember killing the Jets on Thanksgiving , but after that it wasnt real pretty. The next week was a shootout vs GB. Great game and all , but it probably cost Favre his job in GB. He was hurt the first series of the game. Arod came in and diced us up all night. It was suppose to be a good game , but nobody expected a good game after Favre went out.

The next week was a struggle against a bad Detroit team at Detroit. We escaped with a 1 point win.

Then came Philly @ home. Might have been Romos worst game ever. If it wasnt his worst it was his second worst. Of course that can be debated. The year before was the Carrie Underwood game on Christmas day. I always thought that was his worst. Bad loss vs Philly.

Then they roll into Carolina. Escape with win. TO got hurt. We played against their 3rd string QB, who was actually one our last cuts that year- Matt Moore. Still a win, but again they werent clicking.

Finally @ Skins. Week 17. Who cares? I think we did. I think they wanted to get Terry Glenn back on the field. They also wanted Romo to break some single season records. Well , that may have happened , but we got hammered.

What does this last month mean? Probably not much. A game is a game and for the majority of the season , we were the 2nd best team in the league. They just werent playing like they did the first 3 months. You can take a bunch of plays in that Giants game and change them for the better and we win. Both regular season games vs. them were tight- probably tighter than the ending scores.

When i think about 2007 though, I think we missed a chance because we had no big time injuries really. Jason Ferguson was hurt week 1. Nice player but not a game changer. Terry Glenn didnt play all year until the end. Besides those 2 and the ankle injury to TO - there wasnt much. Unlike today, where there is weekly major injuries it seems.

So when i look back on it and think how did we fuck that up :

1. We never give the Giants enough credit. That pass rush was lethal. The secondary , although guys off the streets and beat up, had some old vets back there that could play. These same Giants held arguably the best offense that i have seen to two TDs.

2. Werent playing well going in. Had we been figured out?? That game we came out running the ball with Barber. All year we were pass first it seemed anyway. It was like JG went back to the 90s blue print. Did he do this because of TOs injury.? Romo was still young and wild. Did he do it to keep the turnovers down? I just remember it was the first game Barber started all year. Not that it mattered because Barber was the better back. He had 27 carries that day.

Despite the off sides penalties , i thought the D played fairly well that day. Of course Plax got behind the secondary once, but that was usually a given.

Ive heard Strahan say it more than once. Dallas was the best team they played all year.

Definitely a heart breaking end to a great season.
