I've got a bad feeling, Nolan will still be the DC next season.

Is Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Nolan returning in 2021?

Nolan’s boss, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, wouldn’t answer two direct questions about it on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM] on Tuesday morning.

Jones, however, noted the number of big plays the Cowboys allowed and how it was a mistake to change defensive techniques and philosophies in the offseason, given there was no on-the-field work because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“I really missed it, relative to how important that it might be to stay fixed with the same overall philosophy,” Jones said. “That one is on me. I’ll take that one.”

Could be a bad sign for Nolan.. really all that needed to happen was to tweak the existing scheme. Bringing back Nolan would be another disaster.

I think Jerry wants Mike to come to that conclusion. If Not then I think Jerry does the deed, mostly because Jerry is well aware Cowboy nation wants Nolan gone.

I could be wrong....time will tell
That eases my fears a little.

None of the comments are mine. Obviously whoever wrote this is a TO fan as can be seen by calling Lee "snake". It took me a while the first time I saw it to realize who he was referring to. Holy crap though is that a pathetic ranking for Lee.

Again, I'm not a huge believer in the PFF numbers but they obviously have at least a correlation to how guys played and these rankings mostly suck. Most of our players are just not good enough and while coaching plays a role it's silly to think it's the only problem. Enough of this trying to always resign our own guys. We have done this for years and it just perpetuates us having inferior talent at spots because we overvalue our own players. We need to start bringing in talent and stop being afraid to let our own go. For example, it's insane that we have kept Crawford all these years when it's been obvious from day one his contract exceeded his talent and unlike some other guys it was cap friendly to cut him and we still never did it  A guy like BB would clean up this mess just by unloading the guys that don't belong in a starting lineup and in some cases don't even belong on an NFL field. It would also have solved our cap problem years ago and allowed us to actually sign some good FAs

Totally agree with you about Crawford who was like a utility player on defense. Those type get the minimum. He was way overpaid.

The numbers somewhat indicate that Wilson can be a starter. Honestly how they thought Thompson was starting material is beyond me.. Wilson makes game altering plays and the have been positive. Really think he is the future at SS. You put a a fast ballhawk at FS and add Farley or Surtain and all of a sudden the secondary is no longer a liability . Wilson is a physical presence and I think that helped him get that pick against the Giants. That Giants player was obviously hearing foot steps and lost concentration.

I didn't know he was injured. At least he's doing it now and not waiting.
Yeah, another guy who always seems injured. Doesn't stop him from playing and playing well though so have to give him credit for that. Maybe it's part of why he is always pulling himself out of games

He definitely pulled himself out of games a lot this year. You could tell just by watching it wasn't a sideline call a bunch of times

I guess I need to pay closer attention.
Obviously most players do it at some point but it just seems like we do it more. Maybe it's a conditioning issue. Zeke pulls himself constantly and is then seen on the sideline breathing heavy. Again all RBs do that, but Zeke does it so often that it just seems like he is not in the same shape as other RBs. Then you have Woods making a comment that you can't possibly try 100% on every play in the NFL. I think some old school players rolled over in their graves after that one. It just seems like there is a problem here IMO.

Woods can sign elsewhere. I was done with him after that comment. Cant believe I was so high on him. Paris ford in round 2. Ford brings it on every down. That's the type of player I want.

They may have stumbled onto a QB. Funny how that works.

Man , I have no idea who their Qb will be next year. Honestly, he may be their best option right now. Not sure what Smith will do. I think Allen is oK. Lots of ????? about the QBs of the NFC East right now.

One thing for certain though - that damn 42 year old was sharp tonight. He had a bad couple of drives after the half but damn he made some awesome throws. He had quite a few drops too.

You and me both. It sucks watching all these other teams play. I really thought with the off-season and draft we had that this was going to be our year. Sure we still would have had some holes but all teams do nowadays.

Now , I’m just not sure. The Giants and Washington seem to be improving. I know Dak going down hurt us bad , but we are so shitty in certain areas. It will be another interesting off season.
