Defensive minded Gerald Green still packs a needed scoring punch for Miami Heat

Celtics picked up Green this week. Nothing big but I think a nice veteran for the young team. Is Green being honest that defense is his new objective ? If so maybe a nice piece for 15 min a game and maybe some 3 pt shooting

He's a veteran but I don't know how much veteran help he would bring to Boston.

Isn't this where he started his career?

Plays one side of the ball.

Didn't even do that well after the all star break, bathsalt hospitalization.

Still, they got him on a vet minimum deal.

So, no biggie.....unless it causes them to cut Hunter or Young.

That would be stupid.

A series of relatively minor moves by the Celtics has shed greater light on the 2016-17 roster, cooling talk of a big trade for the time being and putting James Young’s Boston future in serious doubt. According to sources, the Celts have reached agreement with free agent Gerald Green, reacquiring the No. 18 overall pick from 2005 on a one-year deal at the veteran minimum of $1,410,598 based on his nine years of NBA service.

Joe Johnson to Utah comes to mind. Only in this generation is $22 million considered a "little" deal...
