Let's see if he even comes back first. Then, let's see how Michael and Rawls are handling the responsibilities of the RB position. Then, see if it's worth bringing him back - which would have to be a slam dunk, since he'll increase our cap by $4 million (I think) more than we currently have going against it. Overall, I don't know what they will do - but I would lean toward just releasing him outright and moving on.

Pretty sure he would be a free agent. And as much as I love the man, we don't have a spot for him.

We still have him under contract for 2 more years, and the clock is frozen while he's retired.

Really? I thought when he officially retired, he was off the books.

Had the team released him before retired, then he would be a free man. But they didn't. If players could just "retire" to become free agents, I think that would be a big problem.

yeah that makes sense.

Can't see the Seahawks holding onto him though. Love the guy but unless Michael or Rawls really craps the bed, I can't see them bringing back that distraction.

He didn't play that well last year after being injured.

He's spent the whole offseason traveling the world.

And the Hawks have spent the offseason preparing for life after him.

Maybe a desperate team trades for his rights, but I can't imagine the Hawks bringing him back unless a horrible stretch of injuries happen.

Totally agree. The team transitioned away from Lynch last year. Ship has sailed. No doubt the team would just release him if an easy trade couldn't be had.

I can't believe the legs this story has. Keep in mind it was originated by Florio.

I think the only way he comes back is if some team (who is in contention for a title run late in the year) suddenly gets decimated at the RB spot and needs to hire a seasoned mercenary for 4 or 5 games.

He can come back if he wants to play right guard for a few weeks.
