With the Raiders moving, does that help the Athletics stay in Oakland or the Bay Area or is a move elsewhere inevitable. If so, where?
I think the only other place they'd want to go is San Jose and i don't think the Giants will ever let that happen. Once the Raiders are gone, the A's will get their new stadium all to themselves. I think that's what it kind of comes down to for both teams. That stadium is absolute shit and a new one is definitely in order. Not sure what they'll do with Oracle once the Warriors are in SF (projected for 2019, I think... right down the street from the Giants instead of across the parking lot from the A's/Raiders), but they'll have all that space to really do it right.
While I understand the viewpoint, it is a very shortsighted one.The SF screw job of the A's is all the evidence you need that a professional sports league's argument that they're a "single entity" is just complete BS.
It's also why you shouldn't do nice things for your fellow owners. They're just gonna bend you over in the end.

Granted, the A's just handing the territory over is a bit head scratching, they were not doing anything with it. When the Giants got it, they went into overdrive cultivating the market. They recognized the potential. Without San Jose (and more importantly, Santa Clara), Pac Bell never would have been built. The Giants partnered with Google and Yahoo and Oracle (among others) to get the project completed.
Now, after 20+ years of cultivation and investment, the A's want the Giants to just hand over that billion dollar asset? That is ridiculous. The Giants would not do that, even with a $500M fee. It simply would not be worth it.
While you may be right about the 9th circuit being a wildcard, the Giants ownership team is pretty powerful and connected. Conversely, the A's ownership is rather despised.oakland's best option is the Al Davis model.
sue, baby, sue.
the 9th Circuit was not kind to the NFL's blocking of the raiders moving.

Nuke Mt Davis, and half the work is done.
They should move to Las Vegas.
The enormous foul territory in Oakland is the pitcher's best friend. That much foul territory is insane. Who's bright idea was it to have the first row of seats start two miles from the base path? This is a perfect example of why shared stadiums are a terrible idea.
