to say they havent surrounded brady with talent over the years is just absurd. the issue is more retaining those receivers if anything.

but honestly I think a big reason why they dont go all out on getting receivers like andre johnson, owens, fitz, or megatron is because they realize that brady can do pretty well without them. case & point: wes welker vs elderman

yes it would be nice to have an elite level receiver however that means less money for the O-line & defense. plus superstar wide receivers tend to come with the sort of side baggage that BB prefers to avoid.

I started watching Pats back in 70 Grogan, Hannah,Cunningham,Stingley,Francis . Had some shity owners in Sullivans, Kiam was no bargain etc Schaefer,Sullivan crappers and now Gillette Stadium with Patriot Place. Nice complex. Remember the 1 and 2 win seasons, painful being a fan. Got lucky to go to the 85 SB only to get taken to the woodshed by Da Bears. Mediocre next 10 years to go to another SB with Parcells and Bledsoe to lose that one by 14 and then so, so till Bledsoe went down, a tragedy that turned into a blessing

Yeah, he's an absolute weapon for sure. I love the guy but it'd be real tough to put him ahead of Megatron.

I will be more interested in this year's draft than any previous year. I say it every year, but I mean it this time. It's going to be interesting to see the strategy of allot of teams with ailing/aging superstars.

Megaton has a small edge in vertical range. At literally everything else fitz is better, including hands, horizontal range, reaction to the ball in the air, versatility, etc. In many areas it's not close.

he did take elderman a guy who played QUARTERBACK in college and turned him into a 100 reception a season player.

he took wes welker from a no name to 4 100 reception seasons in their 5 seasons together.

branch was a non factor after leaving for the seahawks

moss was non existant at oakland, terrible in his 2nd stint at minn, hoped around a few teams and tanked......but for some reason he has this great stint in between at new england.

then theres the endless list of receivers who have disappeared after leaving new england. gaffney, chad jackson watson etc.

are you really gonna say brady doesnt make his receivers not the other way around? sure megatron would be a great add however is he worth the negatives? to 31 other NFL teams he is, to the patriots he is worth considerably less. adding megatron will screw with the patriots short pass-spread the ball around offense and eat a lot of cap room. Unless he is willing to come to NE on BBs terms its going to be a thanks but no thanks from BB. why spend millions on 1 player when you can build an effective offense around JULIAN ELDERMAN, AMENDOLA, & VereEn

exactly. it is more efficient for the pats to invest in area's other than the receivers core. Hammer doesnt understand enough about football to get this

Bill Belichick is a mastermind.

Players come and go in New England, but Belichick always has them prepared. I can count on one hand how many times this guy has been out coached.

Brady's sheer grit, wit and determination have helped a lot, too. NE may be the most consistent team in the past decade or so.

currently they are the best but they still have more work to do to pass montana and walsh imo, namely win their 4th sb. peyton manning isnt even in the dicussion until he wins 3 rings. you dont play 15 years in the league and only go to two sb's and win only one mainly due to your elite defense that year, especially with 8 one and dones in the playoffs. that is not better than brady. they dont give out lombardi trophies to those that throw the most tds or yards or regular season mvps.
