The Penguins are replacing their medical team as part of a proposed move by 2014 to a hockey facility in Cranberry that will be in conjunction with UPMC, the team confirmed in a statement Friday.

Three UPMC specialists will oversee medical treatment of personnel next season, led by Dr. Christopher Harner, president of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. Harner is one of the founders of the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine.

Ok, I'm still going to call Crosby 'The Puppet Master." I just don't have a reason yet. Or do I? Is it him behind the move, leading to the firing of his old doctors!

Outside of JayBo, I can't think of any decent defenders that might be available on the trade market, and none that have acceptable contracts.

I keep saying Zidlicky. No idea if the Devils are shopping him, but 1 year left on his contract, he's serviceable and could probably be had for pretty cheap. With Henrik Tallinder being healthy Zidlicky is more than expendable. Unfortunately the Devils need a top 6 winger so the Pens would not be a good trade partner.

Now that there is only two years left on it, yes I would argue it is acceptable. Sure we like to rip on JayBo, but he's probably only overpaid by 2 million dollars. I think the acquisition of Wideman will cut JayBo's PP time, which is a good thing.

Pens are moving to a Cranberry practice facility that operates with UPMC.. Pens will be using UPMC medical staff from now on. Pens will be only the 2nd team to have a DR travel to all away games.

They used to skate at the Robert Morris ice center here on Neville Island...but it has been a couple of years since...I actually met and got pictures of myself with Mario and Mark Recchi there...I've chatted with Kevin Stevens and Phil Bourqe there...and the best part? Dave Hanson, of the Slap Shot Hanson brothers, is general manager of the place.

With the cap going up, most teams have more room than they thought. JayBo's contract just got realistic to me. It's a fine line, but it would end the same time Malkin's eventual extension kicks in, so no harm.

I know one thing come the deadline if the Isles are out of it & it's very likely that will be the case, Visnovsky & Streit are going to be hot commodities.

I agree, I think NJ is the type of environment he could succeed in and could be kept in line. There were rumors that they were interested but nothing reliable. No idea if he and Kovy are friends but I love the thought of those 2 playing together.

Would they play the same position or will one be moved back to RW? I think that they may actually be more effective on separate lines.
