I was calling it during the draft as well. I couldn't believe Rambo was there in the sixth.

OK guys, Im proposing a pre draft picky sticky. Skinsdad as board gremlin you get to create it.

Here are the rules.

1 pick for each round. Picks can be changed up to the time we are on the clock during the draft. But early picks need to be in by Friday morning for Round two. As there is only one team picking before us in round two, this should not be difficult as we will know who is still on the board.

Poster with the most correct picks at the end of the draft gets a gift card on me.. unless its me, in which case I just get to refer to myself as draft king until such time as training camp starts. :)

Whos in??

Aqib Talib is a hell of a corner, but I'd hesitate giving big money to a guy who has never played 16 games in a season.

Being a Seahawk fan, I'm quite familiar with the results of giving injury prone players big money (see Deion Branch, Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin). Talib is a great player, but I don't see he is worth the financial commitment.

Playing in 16 games is overrated. Look at what Percy Harvin did in the Super Bowl. That's really the only game that matters.

How is playing in 16 games over rated. Now you are just reaching dude. great Harvin did wonders in the Super Bowl. But seriously you think he would have been there if key players on his teams defense had missed five games?? So you would seriously give a guy $9 million a year who misses four games a year and be ok with it as long as he made a few plays in the games he did play in??

That was a little sarcasm Shark but only a little. If a guy misses a game here and there, fine.

You are preaching to the Choir on that one. I knew from jump that if he hit FA, he was going to want the kind of deal that should make most sane people cringe.

They knew what the price tag was and they have been steadily working at a deal all offseason. If they weren't willing to go close why waste their time?

The deal I would propose: 5 years 50 mil.

Each year: 4 guaranteed for all but conduct, 2 extra base salary for a total of 6, 4 million in playing time incentives. It compensates him fairly while removing some of the risk, and allows him to stay somewhere he is happy without throwing a lot of money away to do it.

Yea Right. If Grimes is getting 8 million in his first two years. Talib is going to want 12 in his first two years. Im sensing the Raiders or Jags will pay him b/c they have the most cap room.

Says the guy who was trying to pretend you could get Talib for 6 per. :wtf:

10 per is more than fair, and while he wants to get paid I don't think he goes to a shithole over an extra mil or two, even if he can get it.

Nobody will give Talib 10/season.

Grimes two years ago was one of the best in the league...injured last season.

Talib is overrated.

Grimes was never best in the league. I would love to see Talib's number to down but it's not going significantly below 10. It's just not going to happen.

I don't want to see his number go down because I don't really want him. At five mil, maybe. I never said Grimes was best in the league...I said he was one of the best and the rankings a couple of years ago said he was. Oh, and Talib has never been the best in the league either.

Talib has been in the discussion. The only limitation has been injuries. Grimes never has been.
