Lynch being Lynch, will wait until after the draft IMO. I'm leaning towards thinking he'll be back, mostly because it just so hard to walk away from some thing you love doing.

But since he is all about those kids outside of football, does he have enough to keep his fire going and does the risk of more debilitating injury and the possibility of it limiting what he can do for them after football weight in at all in that decision? :noidea:

We don't know, I don't think Lynch knows. I just count on the fact, that most players find it hard to walk away from what they have enjoyed doing their whole life, but some players have. So the suspense continues.

I'm just putting different points of view out there for consideration. Anyone who believes they know what Lynch is actually going to do, hasn't been paying attention to him for very long.

If Lynch retires and the Colts release Richardson, I would love if the Hawks signed him for cheap and go into the season with Richardson,Michael,Turbin. Three cheap salaries with big potential and we could put Lynch's salary elsewhere.

No thanks to Richardson. He has no vision. We run a ZBS and if the running back can't read where the hole is, then he's useless. Richardson has been a disaster in this league, and even cheap I don't think he's a quality 3rd back here.

Lynch is coming back. I don't think anyone really buys this drama again that he might retire.

And the idea that everything he does is motivated by charity is more hilarious than the idea that Russell Wilson didn't divorce his wife once he got a taste of the glories of fame and it was because she cheated on him with Golden Tate (oh, the victim!)

Lynch will be back. Nobody is going to pay out the butt for him considering he's approaching 30 and had like 3 400+ carry seasons in a row (counting playoffs). Going to the SBOWL twice is a HUGE toll on a RBACK and if Lynch plays another 2-3 seasons at 16 games, a sports science video needs to be done on his body. Regardless, he's getting like $7M already this year not counting incentives/bonuses.

The retirement talk is likely thrown out there so Carroll/Schneider/Allen will pay more attention to Lynch's gripes with Bevell/offensive playcalling and so he can get another $2-3M.

IF and that's a BIG IF that happens how much space would that free up cap wise ? And would that seriously open up the possibility of Seattle adding Suh to that D line ?

No way he retires. he'll never be able to find another job where he can grab his dick when he does something good.

The retirement talk is nothing but hearsay. We don't even know if it's a leverage move because we don't know if he and the team are even in communication.

I would like to weigh in if you guys don't mind.

Lynch is NOT retiring. This is a ploy to garner attention. I think it's been proven that as much as this ha become a passing league; successful teams still have potent running attacks.

He isn't retiring and we ALL know that.

Au revoir

Oh good. Glad you have the inside info. Would you mind shooting Schneider an e-mail so he will know too?

"A ploy to garner attention." Yeah, right. That's exactly what Marshawn wants - attention. That's why he avoids writers and refuses mandatory press conferencces. It's really reverse psychology. Marshawn has them all fooled because he really craves attention. What better way to get attention than to avoid it. Makes perfect sense.

I think if Seattle won the SB, I would say Lynch would probably have retired. Since that didn't happen, I think he'll be back but I hope he at least gives them an answer sooner rather then later.

I wonder if this can be learned/taught or is it all just instinct?

I don't think so. But running with patience and setting up blockers can, and that's his big weakness IMO.

I kind of hope he hangs them up. His back is obviously getting really fucked up and he probably wouldn't be able to make it through next season anyway. He did a lot for us and he has great heart but it would probably be best for both parties if he just hanged them up. No point sacrificing everything physically when you're set for life.

That would be best for Lynch future health, but I do think he has a year or two left to perform well.

Marshawn lynch would be the biggest idiot if he leaves he would pass up to play on a championship team getting paid the second highest out of any RB for what? People always say that lynch opens up the offense for wilson but why cant it be both ways lynchs career didnt really start taking off until RW was drafted in 2012 he got him for a 4th round pick people thought his career was going downhill after all his issues in buffalo

I'm not even paying attention to the speculation in the media about this. Media speculation is what led Lynch to stop talking in the first place, so the only accurate reporting we're likely to hear about this is on what the Seahawks brass has to say about it. If he decides to come back, we probably won't know about it until he actually shows up on the practice field. If he doesn't come back, we probably won't know about it until the Seahawks announce it.

Reports are the new deal would give him more than 11m this year and something north of 9m next, but details are sketchy at this point.

No idea if they are just trying to get him to make a decision now, before the FA season heats up, or if he has given them any indication he is leaning toward coming back.

I guess it was being reported that a deal had been reached.
