Quit checking me out.
So winning the Sugar Bowl last year meant a national championship for UCF, and I guess now this year it means 4 loss Texas also should have made the playoffs?

No one here said that. Texas has no shot at the playoffs. Three loses, one to a dreadful Maryland who didn’t have their head coach, dealing with the death of a teammate, and was sub .500. OSU would have gotten in over that resume. The thinking was that they were DOMINATED by a Texas team that would have had no business being in the Playoff. The same team that was defeated by Oklahoma in the B12 Championship...
several million away ... not a million
Power Five conference revenue: Pac-12 lags Big 12, in addition to SEC and Big Ten

um didnt Texas come in with basically the same thing just lost their conference championship game that would have given them a shot at the playoff?
next excuse please
Baylor was snubbed as they should have been the sole conference champ, not TCU.Same thing happened to TCU in '14. TCU had every right to be in the playoff and they got snubbed. What did TCU do? Rather than bitch and whine about being snubbed, all they did was go out and embarrass the ever living shit out of the SEC's #1 scoring defense by routing Ole Miss and making it look easy. TCU clearly deserved to be in the playoff in '14 without a doubt.
It wouldn't hurt anything for y'all to actually win a playoff game at some point tho.
Stop it. Without Bama, the SEC doesn't even sniff a playoff spot.

That's cool. The Big 12 just went 3-1 vs the Sec in their bowls.
I remember watching that Baylol/TCU game.Baylor was snubbed as they should have been the sole conference champ, not TCU.
That’s fine and dandy but they didn’t win the game they should have. They weren’t the conference champ despite what the Big12 was trying to do in sneak two teams into the playoffs.I remember watching that Baylol/TCU game.
Baylol won at home, on a last second kick, that was granted by a last quarter ref trick or two.
TCU MIGHT have beat anyone that year in the post-season. They had it all.
Agreed, they didn't win the game they should have. That’s fine and dandy but they didn’t win the game they should have. They weren’t the conference champ despite what the Big12 was trying to do in sneak two teams into the playoffs.
The SEC in general has been bad in the non-playoff Sugar Bowl in recent memory. The consolation game of the conference in the new College Football. List of results this decade.

Scoop and score......FML :-(

Obviously they weren’t “easily one of the 4 best” or else they would have been in the playoffs. And you can’t use bowl games as proof of anything considering it was not evidence available at the time.True, but Bama, and tOSU didn't win the game they were supposed to and still made the playoff without winning their conference. TCU lost on a last second FG in Waco on an awful call and wound up being co-champs. They were a better team than Baylor at the end of the year and easily one of the 4 best and proved they belong after going out and humiliating the SEC's best scoring defense and made it look very easy. Just saying......
