FSU does not travel well unless in the south. Always been that way. Every bowl game in the west there are few people that go. NCG included.

Also the loss is only short term due to the added revenue from the new ACC tv deal. But yeah it is pretty sad to lose that much money up front.

Had to purchase 2,125 tickets from the NCG. Those tickets were not the less expensive ones either. And then the ACC game FSU always loses money one. UNLESS the opponent will be VT or Miami. Anyone else(Duke) going to take a loss on it.

You cannot do this right here with 100-200 band geeks.

The reason is very simple: FSU fans don't want to travel across the country to see a bowl game. It costs a lot of money. This will become an even bigger problem with the new bowl system. The committee will have to take into consideration the location of the semis, when determining the teams and the seeding.

Campus sites works better because the teams get to keep the profits, not share with the bowl executives.

With that said though, I believe FSU will be turning in a profit after you look at conference payout and merchandise sales.

Do they need to take that into consideration for team up north? It has never matter for them so why should it come into play for a team down south?

It won't be an issue for fans from schools like Texas, OU, Bama, LSU, tOSU, etc. Just b/c FSU has a weak fan and alumni base, doesn't mean that will effect other schools with strong fan and alumni bases.....

If a basketball school can sell out the Rose Bowl and then start paying $1k per ticket that is across the country, a football school should be able to do that for the national championship game.
