Certainly possible for a number of teams, including KC, SF, and Denver, to win the SB this year. Still a lot of games left in the regular season.

Yeah, I suppose that's what motivated this poll. If I were a KC fan it would probably irritate me when people try to undermine how effectively Smith is playing this year, particularly if the aim is just to try and prop up Kaepernic and the decision in SF to switch QBs.

With so much football still ahead, though, I just think it's way too early to count SF or at least a dozen other teams out of contention this year.

Isn't it "doubtful" that any team "gets far" with its QB? Only about half a dozen teams even win one playoff game each year and last year only two teams won as many as two playoff games. Personally, I don't see any reason that Smith isn't capable of leading KC to the playoffs and winning a game or two, though it will be difficult, since it always is for every team.

Why is it laughable to think that KC might get to the SB this year? I don't think that there is more than two or three other AFC teams that are currently more likely to get there. Pretty similar to where SF is at in the NFC, isn't it?

Besides the Broncos and Pats who else do you see at a contender to go to the Superbowl? I think the Chiefs have a good shot.
