Ok, this did not seem like a real tough deal to get done. Whats taking so long? Could he be a part of a trade or signing Homer is working on. Simmond and Hartnell/Carle/Someone for Stampkos. I would have never thought it possible, but he should otherwise be signed. Thoughts?

Doughty is the young Kimmo type replacement we need to find. We had Howe, Rico and now Kimmo that have that same type of game. The Kings have a lot of money so there is no way they let him go or trade him. Since he is a RFA I highly doubt they would let him walk.

tampa wants a dman. i'd gladly do 2012 1st, schenn, carle and bob for stammer. mez i want to keep. i really feel he is a stud and is only getting better.

plus you subtract the salaries (3.1, 3.2, 1.8) you have roughly 8 mil for stammer.
assuming we could get him for an 8 mil or so cap hit we still would have like 2.75 mil for a new Dman, a backup goalie, and a 13th forward..really not that impossible as many people think

Meltzer seems to think that TB will want Giroux as the starting point for a deal involving Stamkos. He doesn't think Stamkos will be moved though.
