Yes, but that's if TB even wants Hartnell and if he agrees to waive his NTC.

We don't have to move them to TB. If we complete the deal using Schenn, Bob and a first, we can move Hartnell/Carle in a separate transaction entirely.

Yeah, maybe the Kings will want to pick up another ex-Flyer. Haha

Do you think Richie would do his ex-mates a solid and lobby for one of them?

I'd have to say yes. Plus, John Stevens is on the coaching staff over there.

i would much rather all this talk be about doughty.. he fits more what the team needs, and i think he's a more valuable player than stamkos

see my one trick pony post, somewhere in these threads haha

I like Doughty too. With that said, I'd have no problem with picking up a perennial 45-50 goal scorer either though...especially if he can play with Giroux.

Can't go wrong either way.

see i'm just very skeptical of bringing in stamkos.. guys dont score 45-50 goals a few years in a row normally dont continue the trend.. at least recently.. ovechkin was down to 30 something this year.. perry came out of no where.. kovalchuk hasn't been the same since he went to NJ..

i just think st. louis has too much to do with stamkos' success that to take him out of that situation, he may not be as productive.. obviously he'll still be productive, but if the flyers are going to make the move its going to cost them a fortune in terms of talent AND in terms of dollars, and with that big of an investment you shouldn't have any doubts

i for one am glad most people say it's highly unlikely.. i think doughty is just as unlikely, but i wouldn't be as nervous if the rumors were about him instead

I would definitely be willing to give up Schenn, Bob, Carle and a pick or two for Stamkos if we could sign him guaranteed at a reasonable rate and long term. By reasonable, I mean around a $7 million cap hit or less. Bump his salary up with signing bonuses so he gets paid $12 million for the first several years of his deal but have it average out to $7 million or less. That's what the Rags did with Richards.

I wonder if Stamkos' agent is the one releasing all of these rumors in the hopes that Yzerman will up his offer.

I'd do that too.
