Going for it with Russ would have made more since than trying a sixty-four yard field goal.

Fun little factoid: The original Barney Rubble was voiced by Mel Blanc, who of course was also the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Yosemite Sam, among many others. What this has to do with football, I haven't the slightest idea, but what the hell, fun factoids are fun factoids.

Hackett didn't know what he was doing. He froze at the moment that Head Coach shouldn't. Hope he learns from his mistake.

Hackett needs help. That much is obvious.

The events of the last minute make the headlines but it was all his decisions and playcalling earlier in the game that cost the Broncos the W.

He is clearly getting the playcalls in too late to a QB that does not look in control of the offense yet. Way too many delay of games and snapping the ball in the last seconds of the play clock. One of the fumbles at the goalline was directly because the play clock was about to expire and the Broncos had to snap the ball at the last second. And Woods the vet knew the situation and basically guessed the snap and just blew up the OL in front of him because of it.

And the actual plays being sent in left a lot to be desired too. How they didnt take more advantage of what looks like a putrid Seattle secondary with the talent they have on the outside is crazy.

This is an offense that looked a step behind the whole day. Clearly could have used some preseason work.

And of course I knew that already.

LOL. Just complete unawareness from both Wilson and Hackett. As for "Should Wilson have told Hackett to go for it?" LOL, what? Hackett's the fuckin' coach and needs to know that FGs that distance have about a 5% success rate, they're on the road (not in thin air Denver) in an open air stadium. What a clown.

Everyone stroked how Wilson was going into such a better situation, etc. I dunno about that. New head coach, new OL coach, new defensive coordinator... it's not that stable of a team at the moment.

If they were going to kick the FG why didn’t they just rush the FG team out there. If they missed at least the game wouldn’t have been over. Made zero sense that Russell didn’t take a timeout.

Can't rush a 64 yard FG attempt. Best case scenario it takes 25 seconds to line-up and execute.

If they call time-out with 1 minute left and they miss the FG the game would be over. 5 seconds for the missed FG attempt, 6 seconds total for 2 kneel-downs followed by time-outs, and a final 44 second sweep play with the clock running would have eaten 55 seconds. On 4th down there would have been a drop back and a deep high pass to eat the last 5 seconds.

The didn't want to call time-out, kick the FG, and leave the Seahawks with 55 seconds to get into FG range.
