If the NBA ever changed the logo, there are only 3 candidates that should be considered.

1.) Michael Jordan - In the opinion of most, he's the GOAT.
2.) Magic Johnson - Brought the NBA from a niche league to where it has been able to grow to today.
3.) Larry Bird - See Magic Johnson.
