Mr. Knowitall
He is a heavyweight possibly going to a "bruiser" style team. I think he'd do just fine there. Which sucks.
Fudge. Here's to hoping he was a product of Suter.
thinking about this last night. and Im sure a lot agree it really is the most brilliant move that Homer has made should they not match. Getting arguably the best Dman in the NHL for 4 1st round draft picks that will be for sure in the 20 to 30 area and not giving up any roster players is amazing.
then you look at that statement and you KNOW the Preds will match and take their chance on trading him
Yeah.....they just HAVE to match. I freakin hate it, but I def think there is no way that they don't.
Then Homer trades Cooter and 2 1st's for Weber and we are back here again.

wouldn't surprise me but I would think that if Philly wants him that bad they would have to give up even more since they did the offer sheet and Im sure Poile will nail them if he can. they will need a young dman in this return I think
You don't think this leaves a sour taste in his mouth about dealing with Homer? If I were running the Preds, I wouldn't do anything that would help the Flyers for a long time.
not saying the preds wont match, i'm sure they will if they can afford it.. but if they do match, they have to pay him for year 1, why would they in turn, trade him, after they paid out ~25% of the contract?
do they for sure have to pay that first year? how does that work?

well from everything i've read, mostly in here or on the flyers board, is that he's gunna get 1 mil in salary for the first 4 years, but 13 mil in signing bonuses..
the way i read that is he'll get 13 mil on wednesday, 1 mil over the course of the season, and then 13 mil again next july 1st (technical start of the new year)..
so he'll get 27 mil between now and july 1st, 2013.
of course, i could be misinterpreting that, or those numbers could be wrong in the first place, but that's the way i'm seeing it right now
thats right but I think they might be able to trade him next July 1 to avoid the second signing bonus

Weber: "I signed long-term with the Flyers because I want to win a Cup, and this seems like the easiest way to wind up doing that in LA."
