This move would put the Flyers over the top. I would be shocked if the Preds didn't match. Wild card is if Weber even wants to play in Nashville anymore
ok since Nashville can still work a trade does it have to be with Philly. I would thnk so but if Nashville could trade him to another team it would be hilarious.
nevermind.. apparently rule 10.3 states that once an offer sheet is signed, it is either matched, or the player signs with the new team. a trade cannot be transacted.
if it were to end up as the flyers trading for weber, it'd be a two step deal where nashville declines to match, weber signs in philly, the preds get 4 first round picks, and then trades some (or all of them) back to philly for other parts
This would completely screw over Nashville if they can't match. If they can, it may be a blessing in disguise. They have their wish of locking up Weber for the rest of his career.
either way i'm happy.. philly or nashville for the rest of his career.. no pens. no rangers. no wings.
I think a big wild card in all of this is Webers wishes. He may have told Nashville he wants out.
BTW, unless Weber plays goalie, I am not overly concerned about this signing.
Not to be a wet blanket, but.....

The wettest. Still, I'd put Philly at the top of my contenders list for this year if this happens.
This also makes me wonder how long Rinne is in for. Will he follow the same route as his captain and alternate captain?
