If all else fails I've already downloaded the ISO image and burned an install DVD...

And my first update attempt failed with error 800240020, incomplete download. Oh well, found some instructions on how to start over, guess I'll give it another shot. Right now using the Linux machine while Windows tries to download it again...at least it didn't crater the installed Windows 7...

Hope that doesn't happen to me. Haven't time it, but seems to be taking a while. So far so good.

Sounds like your download completed though if you actually got the window asking for permission to do the install.

BTW: I can only see these hidden files using the WizTree app, not Explorer, even after changing the setting to show hidden and system files.

Fixed this too, can't just see it on the tree view is all, actually have to open the damn folder. Silly me.

Had to consent two more times. Upgrade ready...do you consent, next one ...don't even remember. It's now configuring and restarting.

I wont upgrade until I hear 10 is running well. So, next June or so. About the time SP1 usually comes out. Altho, I understand 10 will be a continuous update and not receive SP's.

Only on a laptop that had windows 8 on it. If it blows up, no big deal. Hardly use it anyway.

I've got 10 running on my PC now. I'll wait a little longer before I upgrade my laptop.

Fast smooth transition. No issues so far. I feel better just running defender with MBAM now & uninstalling Kaspersky.

It's been on my pc for about 90 minutes. Dinner distracted me till a few minutes ago.

The upgrade is going smoothly on my machine, and fast as it is an SSD that is being used for Windows.

And I had to apply Linux upgrades again today!

Had to get off my laptop. Right now the keyboard seems messed up, lots of lag and doesn't seem to capture all the keystrokes. Just making that one little post required going back and trying to get it to spell what I want. Also SportsHoopla didn't expand to fill the monitor, I guessing tweeking the settings will fix that . Going to take some work to set this up good enough to like using it, but that's OK, I like screwing around to get things right. Later I'll get a screen shot app so I can show what it looks like. I save that for the weekend.

If you only have one computer, wait for things to get fixed.

The DL is complete on this machine I think, but I haven't had time to start it yet. Have two racks of st louis ribs on the smoker and have been doing outside chores. I'll get it setup tonight.

I want to do both the DL install and the ISO install so I'm familiar with both. I'm sure I'll be using the ISO for my machines at work so I have to at least find a machine and test it on it.

Which browser were you using? Edge or IE? Or another browser like Firefox or Chrome?
