Why King thinks Shanahan has chance to be next Belichick

I don't know about this. He's done some great work but his ego has cost the 49ers one Super Bowl already and a loss in Seattle and Baltimore last year. He out-smarted himself with those games in hand. I'm not convinced.

Shannahan has developed an offense that makes you defend sideline to sideline. He has developed an offense which relies on RAC's which is good in the sense it reduces mistakes. But in the end you still need the talent to execute your scheme. This talent includes a consistently good QB (Belichick had the GOAT Brady) plus an offensive line. This QB doesn't need to be a good downfield thrower (gun slinger), but he does need TIMING to go with his accuracy. When you throw it on time the receiver can maximize his RAC.

You need a good O-line because this scheme is set up by the run. So you need five linemen that can run block AND pass block.

We haven't even gotten to the defensive side where Belichick is really known for.
