Lol...thanks but I understand how the draw works. They have met a few times on the same side of the draw in some GS events and Henin was the player that moved on...To be honest I'm not sure what we're trying to establish....Henin was just as good? She was stout competition?

i just noted early that she had plenty of success against serena, as opposed to serena being unbeatable. personally, i think she had the better all around game.

were talking about a 37 year old overweight serena, with child, waltzing through slam draws, until the final.

Actually you yourself admitted she works hard or harder than your normal tennis player. As I told you with Serena the weight or age doesn't come in here. By the way Roger Federer is 37 years old and playing great. What's your point?

That is if you take away the one Henin cheated in.

everyone who ever beat serena benefited from some sort of injustice against her. we saw that saturday.

henin and serena were not even in the same class on clay.

If she would have kept her temper, knowing that she already had an infraction, it would not have mattered. She got what she deserved in this case.

That's not the point. The umpire should have done what she had done in many occasions where she used the discretion. In any passionate game she knows players have reacted in different emotional way at championship. He failed the sport.

Oh...there you go.

Maybe she did...I was more into womens tennis during the Graf/Everett/Navratilova era. I did watch a lot of the Williams sisters early when they were more raw.

Henin might've had a better all around game, but Serena hit another level with her power game.

henin played well on all surfaces. her game had variety, and she could change it up, unlike a certain baseline basher.

4 out of 6 wins vs Serena came on clay.

Yeah. So how many titles does Henin have vis a vis Serena? How many majors does Henin have? It was poetic justice that Serena was the one who shellacked her into retirement.

could have swore i saw justine beat serena and venus back to back, in straight sets, at the us open.

serena had a better serve, justine was better at everything else. serena's net game is very average.

Not really. Maria Sharapova beat her at Wimbledon. There was no event. Others like Steffi, Kerber et al have beaten her without any incident in her exemplary career.

serena played longer, so what. some people have other things going on in their lives. justine enabled serena to win more titles by retiring.

justine was #1 when she retired. then after taking a year off was still able to make it to the finals of the ao and take serena to 3 sets.

she discredited sharapova after that loss too. steffi beat venus.

kerber was a rare moment when she was gracious in defeat.

An overweight woman played longer? Still Serena shellacked her into retirement, no dispute about that. Durability as exhibited by tennis greats is part of the game of tennis. It is a testament to Serena that she was able to change her game after Pete Sampras that relied on her non-return serve to dominate the game long after injuries almost sidelined her or sent her into retirement.

justine was #1 when she retired. no idea what you are talking about.

attention is just more important to serena. she can't change her game. she's one dimensional.

Remember Serena because of her race and her attitude has been under constant attack through out her tennis life. Compare her to Jennifer Capriati who despite drug use and numerous infractions with the law never got half the acrimony Serena got. She discredited Sharapova by promising herself to beat her continuously.
