i never saw federer threaten or call an umpire a name once in that video.
Our ears only hear what our ears want s to hear. How many times did he not break a racket or cussed and no warning or penalty given? You guys are so prejudiced against Serena that it is not even funny. Did you not hear him cuss many times arguing with referees and told the referees he doesn't give a shit and should not tell him what he should do?

they are unhappy with serena acting like she's above the rules. not only her verbal abuse, but also her calling him sexist for enforcing the rules, and saying he will never be allowed to umpire another one of her matches.

Yes for enforcing uneven rules that are applied differently? Even Federer cussed at referees and broke his racket many times without warning. This argument is becoming a joke.

the video just showed him getting angry, it didn't discuss what penalties were assessed. you break a racket, its a code violation. thats the rule.

Not forgetting Nadal with his incessant argument and time violations with minimal warnings. This double standards that even players who actually played the sport recognize permeate it.

Actually I followed a lot of these and I can say with confidence when a warning is given the referees say it and commentators say it. There are even situations with a lot of players when Nadal's uncle was giving coaching signals that were not enforced. This permeated the sport. A lot of pass is given to male players. It is getting tiresome how some of you posters only hurl insults at Serena.
Andre Agassi cussed and spat on an umpire and hit a ball against an opponent that almost decapitated him had he not fortunately dodged it. You hypocrites.

Are you fucking kidding me? He was not given a warning or penalized in any of the incidents shown.

Carlos unevenly applied the rules. Google is your friend and I am not going to spoon-feed you. But hypocrites obly see what they want to see or hear what they want to hear.

How old are you? Do you think he berated referees only once?

And i have not even brought Mcenroe into this conversation. I am talking about players visibly angry of calls and actions like violently cracking rackets without warning or penalty and continuously arguing angrily with same referees without consequence.

i've never seen federer personally attack a referee like serena did, and has done in the past. i've seen him disagree on calls, yes, threaten or personally attack officials, no.

The behavior in tennis has been getting worse and worse over the years. Men probably more than women have been suspended and/or fined more than women.

In recent years women have been getting worse and pointing to the men saying "They can do it."

Officials very recently have been warning both men and women about tantrums and bitching and comments to no one that are being made out loud. The WTA has always had a standard of behavior and and they let it get out of control, now they're trying to get it back.

If you can get that control by whacking a major or #1 player, then you do it. It sends a warning that it's time to buck up cupcake and behave the way the rules say. Serena crossed a line by calling the ump a "cheat" because she has a temper and ego problem. Don't like it Serena> Play somewhere else. Your progative.

compared to other sports, the behavior in tennis is probably very good. people even complain that tennis is boring because the players are too well behaved. you rarely even see this type of behavior from other women. men do commit more violations, and they get penalized more.

serena easily crossed the line, deserved what she got, and has a history to boot.
