The Phillies called up seven players. The two most interesting are Maikel Franco and Miguel Gonzalez

Infielders Maikel Franco and Cesar Hernandez, catcher Cameron Rupp, right-handers Luis Garcia and Miguel Alfrdo Gonzalez and outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. will have their contracts purchased from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

That is an interesting bunch. They could use Rupp's arm even though his batting and offense production suck. Nieves has been screwing up of late and Ruiz has been the only viable catcher we have. Franco and Hernandez are decent. I am not sure why Boobens keeps bring Gwynn Jr back? Doesn't make any sense. If we can't find a space for Ruf, where are we going to put all of these guys? Oh well, more immigrants to the funny farm known as the Phillies these days.

The bullpen gets stronger. Gwynn adds nothing but outs. Franco should start on Tuesday. Rollins and Utley will get more rest.

And what is the reason for that Northeast? Nobody seems to have an answer for that type of twisted logic of this idiot. Nobody, not even the people who are close to the organization who are not directly in the FO. Everyone in that group is scratching their heads as they have done many times with this cancer.

Retro, it seems like "politics" are involved with Gwynn. Wouldn't seem nice to release the son of a legend so they feel obligated to give him playing time even though it prevents progress in sorting through the young prospects.

Number one rule from the book of how to be a successful major league baseball GM is never become sentimental. It appears Boobens can't read because that is all he has been.:gaah:
