So I"m a little confused about the seedings right now.... If we take care of business next week, what is the mathematical situation for us getting the possible #1 seed ?
We win and either the Cowboys lose OR the Packers/Lions game doesn't end up in a tie and we get the first seed.
So even if we tie with the Cowboy's at 12-4 we can still get the #1 seed even though they beat us head to head earlier in the year ? That's what I'm confused about...
Yes, basically if GB and Det tie that means we are in a head to head with Dallas and they would get the #1 and we would get #2. If Dallas loses and we win, we get #1. If GB and Det don't tie, then there will be a three way tie and we win all those tiebreakers with a better Conference record. You can't use head to head in a 3 way tie.
Wow that's confusing... But it sound promising for us as long as we take care of business..
Correct. If we win there is literally less than a one percent chance that we don't get HFA.
Dallas wants to win to move up in the seeding and GB wants to win to move up in the seeding, so I don't think there will be any conspiratorial ties to keep us out of the top seed. Also, the Dallas game and the GB/Det game are happening at the same time. Sunday at 10am PST.
We still have to take care of business and just win the division outright. We will know before we play what the other games did.
Det/GB actually got flexed to 4:25.
That's bad for the Lions. Later in the day and colder. Plus gives GB fans more time to drink before the game. The place will be jacked up.

BTW, this is why we always say that losses to teams from the AFC just aren't as bad as any other team in the NFC. Losing to SD and KC instead of one of the non divisional NFC opponents is exactly why Seattle is poised to hold their own destiny next week while a team that beat them cannot control their own.
Who you lose to matters greatly.
Hard one to call. Cards may have issues on offense, but the 9'ers are a total dumpster fire right now and they literally have nothing to play for. Arizona may not need the win, but they need the confidence and that counts for far more. I'm not ready to write that one off just yet.I have a feeling the cards lose next week and the division is ours no matter what.
