No other team, just Yes or No. Ole Miss ranked in the final AP top 25. 2 weeks, winner choice on avi.

Nope, I'd be taking too much risk vs you, so not interested.

Odds are way more likely in favor of you being right.

So do you not agree they're a top 10 team right now?

If you're not in, offer is open to anyone else.

It's Ole Miss, there is no way in hell I'm going to bet on them to do anything specific without an equal amount of risk. They play in the SEC West and will have to face 4 other teams that are pretty damn good. They play minimum: Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M. So basically it's a question of: Does a likely 4 loss team end up in the top25.

You named terms, I gave you some counter terms. Someone would have to be stupid to take that bet.

I understand it's a stupid bet for you, but that's the point I am trying to make. It seems like this happens every year with teams like Ole Miss or Miss State out of the SEC. They play a horrible OOC schedule and are ranked, then appear to be a 'good win' for the rest of the conference, but don't belong anywhere near the top 25. Let alone the top 10.

Even when Ole Miss doesn't crack the top25, they are usually just outside it. Usually a top40 team.

I do agree they get over hyped every couple of years and then nothing happens. But they play in the SEC West and even with everyone talking about how good A&M has been lately, A&M hasn't managed to crack the top3 of the SEC West yet. Adding A&M to the West didn't help Ole Miss either. Although before A&M it was Arkansas that was better.

How good do you think Ole Miss would be and would they finish in the top25 if they were part of another conference? Or hell, just even SEC East.

Anyone who uses the rankings at the time a game was played at a later data is dumb. End of year/most current rankings should always be the metric as far as that goes.

I wish I knew. They never play a decent OOC, and obviously get crushed by the big guys in the West. I don't even think I could make a reasonable guess.

They played Texas the prior 2 years. Boise St this year. So yeah, not really a great OOC now, but they were trying and it's not the worst.

Miss St is the one that plays the horrible OOC every year.

In the discussion of the AP Poll, you guys are missing the real headlines: that the SEC just set the all-time AP Poll record for most teams from 1 conference in the Top 15 with 7.

It's certainly all the media organizations want to talk about.

ABC's headline is "SEC Dominating AP Poll Again":

USA Today's headline is "SEC with 5 teams in top 10 of AP poll", and ESPN's headline is "SEC again dominates AP poll":

The NCAA's headline is "SEC lands five teams in top 10 of AP poll, unprecedented seven in top 15":

Plus the NCAA takes a potshot at the Pac-12:

S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!

The good thing is the AP, and Coaches Poll will have no influence on the Playoff Committee Poll that comes out in late October, but since the Playoff Committee's Poll doesn't come out til late October the AP, and Coaches Poll is all we have to talk about.

So I guess Alabama doesn't have to be concerned over SOS anymore huh?

*no sarcasm. Don't scold me bro.

That's a matter of end of year record.

Did undefeated Alabama ever have a concern? No.

Did 1 loss Alabama have a concern? Yes, and still does.

I have to wonder if A&M or Mizzou would be ranked highly if they were still in the Big XII...hell it used to take both those teams to get to 6-0 or better to even smell the top 25.

A&M wins the West, Mizzu wins the East.

I have no problem with this many SEC teams being ranked in the top 15, provided that if/when some of them are shown to be not so good, they don't all cling towards the top because the team that skull fucked them was also ranked way up there primarily due to early season assumptions. Or don't cling to top spots if/when other teams have big wins simply because someone got to the 4 or 5 spot first and didn't lose while beating up Kentucky. Things have a way of sorting themselves out over time though.
