This was brought up a couple of years ago when Seager said Jerry hadn’t talked to him since they decided to go for a rebuild. Marco and Haniger blasted him. I can only imagine how he is to agents after how he has handled the media especially the Marco/O’Neill trade and when Chris Taylor was brought up to him.If this is even a little bit true Jerry needs to go.
In a heartbeat. If Seattle isn’t going to end up with a bat then they might as well try to get best pitching staff in baseball. The next Mariner???
Dodgers activated RHP Trevor Bauer off the restricted list.
This comes after Bauer's suspension was reduced from 324 games to 194. The 31-year-old was handed a two-year suspension for violating MLB's domestic violence policy. Bauer is now eligible to play for the Dodgers, but the expectation is that he has thrown his last pitch for the organization. He's still under contract for $32 million for the 2023 season.
Lopez and Taylor were both guys that were in just random trades that weren’t a going for it trade. I think the organization is just doomed with that because they have had so many just random minor leaguers tossed in in minor trades that have gone onto to have success. It would be nice if the baseball gods let a Haggerty or something turn into Altuve where they can get a superstar that wasn’t apart of their plan.Nailed it.
And like I have argued with him in the past, no fan has asked them to spend to win. They are asking to improve the talent level in bigger strides which of course takes bigger money. His type always talks about how just throwing money out there won't work. Yes that is true, but no team gets worse by adding better talent. And again, talent costs money.
Again, nailed it. You can't sustained winning by just trading. It takes us 5 years to add MLB talent. At some point you get depleted or trade that guy that makes you regret it. People don't talk about it, but one of the Marlins most called on pitcher for trades is Pablo Lopez. Remember him? We traded him and 3 others for that Mariner Legend David Phelps.
ShhhhhhCheap, fast 4th OF...
Rangers designated OF Eli White for assignment.
White comes off the 40-man roster to make room for the recently claimed Nick Mears. The outfielder hit just .200 in 105 at-bats with the Rangers in 2022 before a wrist injury cost him the rest of the season, but did steal 12 bases and is one of the faster players at the highest level. It shouldn't be a surprise if he was able to find a new home in the coming days.
