" Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic writes that the expected prices of those shortstops are making it likelier that the M’s pursue a left-handed hitting second baseman to platoon with Dylan Moore."

I think this was the point which states we are to 'pursue' a platoon. Just wrong in every way for a team that wants to win..oh wait..a team that wants to win at a below top end payroll. Only way you can do that is to develop 4 more Julio's and stop extending them years before we need to and for 4 times what another player of his same level got. Just me I guess.
Could mean a Baltimore .trade..they have what they
Are looking for.

According to Ari Alexander of KPRC in Houston, left-hander Eric Jokisch is considering a return to the majors in 2023.

The 33-year-old southpaw reportedly has already received interest from the Mariners, Angels and Marlins. Jokisch has spent the last four seasons with the Kiwoom Heores in the Korea Baseball Organization where he has posted a stellar 2.72 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 536/143 K/BB ratio across 701 2/3 innings while averaging 29 starts per season. Given the overall lack of starting pitching depth around the league, it shouldn't be hard for Jokisch to find an opportunity if he's interested.

Cheap players?

SS 2b....vavra and more...drafted guys .
Nice place for Gonzales..flexen maybe..

But I know they not be hasty...with Gonzales...#5

Maybe ok

Here you go reason number 102,378th reason why payroll will be lower than fans had hoped.

I hate the fact he is talking about the future like this. A. The team has the money. B. They have no idea what the luxury tax, the tv deals or any new form of revenue will be.

And it’s not like fans are wanting or complaining about wanting them get 2 of the 4 big SS’s, I just want them to finally use FA money on a big time bat over mostly likely them spending big money on the Japanese pitcher. As good of a find Flexen was, he wasn’t better than signing Wong back in the day.

They have done a great job at trading to get where they are but by all accounts the Mariners don’t have enough top prospects to pull off a trade that fills both 2B and the COF spot.

Nailed it. But I read the tealeaves a few weeks back and said it all pointed towards a lower budget. His whole reasoning is flawed. But then again it isn't easing, it is excusing the fact they just don't want to spend. Just say it. Our billionaire owner wants to keep all his money. Why can't Bezos waste his money on the Mariners instead of rockets?

Geez

Word is, the Astros and Justin Verlander are “far apart” in talks. Verlander seeks $130 million for three years (the Max Scherzer deal), and the Astros, with their deep rotation, seem pessimistic on Verlander, which may open things up for the Dodgers, Mets and Yankees.

This is the most realistic...ideas..I have heard on 710..
Build..a younger winner
.
I can go with conforto though..(need that hard to find LH power bat)
Then trade for a 2b...I'm ok with it..
Even a LF...
Or reynolds is prob the best idea..n LF..lol

A question I also have is why is Dipoto even talking about this. Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t money the role of the new business operations ladies job.

The way with Bezo’s it seems is he wants full control, does seem like the Stanton and the other minority owners weren’t going to give that up.

Wazzu..they. Want to build..a sustained winner..

Yes they are winning....but they need to go.step by step..
While continue to build there...minoers..

The castillo/ Reds trade /...set them back a year..

But it's ok..they need pitching..it's the biggest..thing...to support..a winner
.
Know yes..they need hitting...and they helped that..with toescar Hernandez..RF..( basicly to replace haniger.)..still..14mil..anyway
Know .they will..have.to replace..a.frazier..

And they could go with kelenic..in LF...but that may not wash.. but..they have Trammell Marlowe
As well...

On the side..a Reynolds trade.could work..

With kelenic or Trammell included..
Plus Gonzales..plus flexen.
Or maybe kelenic and trammel..and maybe toro

But Seattle would want bea as well

Yeah..
Reynolds and bea..would work to well..for seattle..

And they would prob need
One more 2b..but..that..would be close ..and they .then would shop..for a #5 starter..

A reynolds is trade could do a lot..for Pittsburgh

As I said.. pitcheing winns games....and Pittsburgh..needs a lot..of that..

So if you said...
Hancock..Gonzales flexen..kelenic.trammel..

If I could not get Reynolds and bea..for that .
Forget it..

They will end up eating Reynolds value..cuz they won't trade him..

Conforto..would fit in between Hernandez.
And suerez .and he is an every day player..

I don't be really know .is winker is..either.
Way..
It's not all that easy..to find..LH power bats .

Winker....
Or...
Conforto..

Got ...me.... twilight...zoneing...del...Emma..
