This should make @ulmax happy.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Mariners are among the teams with interest in Michael Conforto.

Conforto seems to have a pretty expansive market in free agency, having also been connected to the Cubs, Yankees, and Mets. The 29-year-old outfielder is said to be seeking a two-year deal (with an opt-out clause for next winter) after he missed all of the 2022 season due to a shoulder injury. He has almost always been a productive hitter when healthy.
Yes it does make me..happy that they have no interest in guys they should hav them interest in

Yep..and conforto..yes that I'm happy about it that

He is worth taking a flyer on but I can’t see in anyway the Mariners match the alleged seeking offers Boras wants. Sign him great but there isn’t any reason why after essentially 2 years off of baseball he would be signed and be giving a spot over Kelenic or Trammell. Worth a minor league or a 1 year heavily incentivized deal.

Is this a good move or just depth. I can’t tell from numbers that this dude is a legit signing or another dude they are going to DFA in a couple of weeks.

Personally I think if the season begins and he was the OF we signed then the offseason was not productive. Now for a 1 year/$5M deal, sure.

From what I read and watched, he has better stuff than his numbers indicate...whatever that means. I watched a podcast about him, ya I have no life, and they said he has been good vs righties but bad vs lefties but he may be like Sewald that his teams pushed him to throw the wrong pitches too often. That is what I got from it. They also said not to hold your breath on M's signing an expensive RP.

Listening more on this subject I am scared of the guy. Lamb was a stud then hurt his shoulder and hasn't been anything since. Bellinger did the same thing. So coming off a shoulder injury worries me way too much to invest any money on. We already have three projects in Kelenic, Winker and Trammell. I don't think we can afford a 4th. Now if we dumb the other 3 and he comes cheap, then ok.

The project part is my issue too. I think I heard the minimum that he and Boras want is $13 million and that’s just too much. It’s a high risk/high reward guy but the Mariners don’t need a high risk guy when you got the 3 young guys. Plus as well with Conforto it kind of goes back to having to leave the DH open for him.

He only had 13.1..innings pitcher..this season..
With a 1.35..era..i would like to see him all season...
