shut up baby, i know it
Superbowl wins:
Doug Pederson - 1
All other Eagles coaches combined - 0
Maybe you trust the guy knows more than you.
And talking about HFA after week four is just retarded. Might as well start game planning for your potential Super Bowl opponent... can never start too soon. Who do you think wins the AFC after we get home field and dominate the NFC? I guess you could start a thread about that idiocy as well.
Only thing you say that we can agree on is that Jalen Mills sucks. So does Darby and most of the rest of our secondary. Jenkins is great, but looks a little slower this year. But our corners are overly reliant on the front 4 getting home. They play 20 yard cushions and still get beat on double moves multiple times per game. Christ the one play last game was a lazily run post and Mills wasn't within 5 yards of the guy when he dropped the pass. That sticks coverage on 4th and 15 had the left side of the D completely flat footed and nowhere close to a receiver. Why not run a normal defense there? Oh well, if you opponent completes a 4th and 15 to keep the game alive, you deserve to lose.
minus a random negative comment here and there, i've been giving pederson a lot of credit since early last year for adapting and great coaching. even though it's questionable how much of that was connected to the staff at the time, i still give him the credit for the moves.
my biggest issue related to him is when he goes andy reid and refuses to run the ball, like last week. these are legit complaints/observations that are almost always backed up by writers, non homer fans, etc.
as for homefield advantage, i really don't comprehend what the hell is so hard to follow. no one said it guarantees anything. but it does greatly assist a team in their push for a championship. that should have easily been the eagles #1 goal for this season. you know you're the best team in the division and one of the best in the NFL.. you're playing to set yourself up at home.
could this eagles team go into LA, green bay, new orleans and win? of course. would the odds be in their favor? no. would they be able to do it back to back weeks? highly unlikely. would the eagles have won or even made it to the superbowl last year if they had to play a couple of road games? again, highly unlikely.
barring some extreme shit luck and/or play, this team is going to the playoffs. that 100% puts the focus on their seeding. and they just fucked up royally last week by choking a game away numerous times. the fact that it's only week 5 has no bearing on that.
if we don't catch fire now, then i fully expect to head into the postseason with 9-11 wins and lose a tough game on the road. then fans will be saying how we just weren't good enough.. which will be bullshit. it will come down to the fact we couldn't secure home field, where we dominate. it's how we won last year, and how we'll win again. aside from that meaningless dallas game at the end of last year.. we haven't lost at home since december of 2016.
