Seattle without Lynch is a 3-7 Football team this year. They better figure something out..but I hope he walks cause facing him twice a year is no fun. Maybe Oakland will give him a huge contract and he could spend his twilight years in his hometown.

I would consider Hyde more than decent but all you need to do is look behind that Gore/ Hyde combo to understand where the 9ers are at the RB position.

wasted draft picks on 2 rbs who are no longer with the club

Let's be clear; Pete probably does want Lynch back. I'm sure the entire FO does.

They do not, however, want his salary back. And that will be sticking point this offseason.

It will be tough to keep him once the get Wilson his new contract.

at least hyde seems decent. I would not want turbin being my #1 if I'm seattle

Meh, pretty sure it would be RBBC or a draft pick if Lynch leaves.

Not so fast. The cap is $133 million. Even with Lynch, the Seahawks are at $105 million in 2015. Leaving $28 million to pay Wilson and others. Also the cap is expected to go up even more next year. So it is very possible for Lynch to remain on the Seahawks next year.

I don't think Carroll is lying when he says of course he wants Lynch back. But wanting him back and keeping him are two different things entirely. It's just a money thing and if Seattle can figure out a way to keep Lynch and still keep the others they want plus be under the cap they'll probably do it. Hell, we "wanted" to keep Golden Tate too, but he became too expensive. This happens every year to every team in the NFL.

The other thing is that Lynch may not even want to come back himself. He was openly pondering retiring right after the SB last year so now that he's played another year (and is pretty banged up lately) he may just pull the pin and call it quits regardless of whether the team wants him back or not. Time will tell, and nobody except a few Seahawks insiders and Lynch himself know what is really going on.

Football players in real time should be paid around $30,000 to $50,000 per season. If most of these guys had to WORK at a real job, they wouldn't maybe make a dime, so let's get real once and get the pay down to where it belongs, good grief.

I seem to recall that some Seattle fans thought it was a foregone conclusion before this season began that this would be Lynch's last year in Seattle. I always thought it would be a big loss to their team to lose him, though salary issues are obviously an important factor.

Yep, I was one who thought that and Ill admit I was dead wrong. I didnt figure Lynch would have the year he did, figured the passing game would have more solutions and thought Michael would emerge as more of a factor.

Well seattle offered a nice deal i thought. Lets see if he takes it. I still think seattle needs to draft a RB in the 1st or 2nd rd and then they need to go after a TE and WR. They need to get Wilson weapons. Losing Tate showed this year and in the playoffs. Wilson struggled in the playoffs this year and its not all on him.

If Seattle has the cap space the question is why wouldn't they want him back?
